Despite the looming threat of rain, dedicated LOTTR fans braved the surprisingly good weather (compared to the buckets of water known to some as rain, that had fallen on So. Cal mere hours before) to see their favorite hobbit turned nasty - Gollum, otherwise known as Andy Serkis.

We arrived 2 hours early for the 1pm signing and got a very good place in line. We only had to wait about an hour before we reached Andy. He was bright eyed and very chatty! Despite the 'rule' sheet being handed around that stated one photograph, we took many, and he didn't seem to mind.

There were no nasy, evil, Nazi-like security people there bound and determined to make the fan's lives a living hell. Too bad Viggo couldn't kick them out on their a$$ when he had his signing a few months prior.

I'll have photos up eventually (probably after the Oscar Party) but he signed one of the Oscar Consideration ads for me with he and Gollum up for Best Supporting Actor. He held it up, made a Gollum face, and then let me take the photo. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.

He said he'd be at the Oscar party on Sunday, so will look forward to meeting the man again there. he mentioned possibly bringing his kids but when we mentioned about the age limit at the venue, he chuckled and said, "Eh, that's ok. I wouldn't have had any fun if I'd brought them anyway.'
