Profile: Once a representative for Earth in the early days of the Mortal Kombat tournament, Shang Tsung was cursed by the Gods for his lust for knowledge and power: he would rapidly age, and only be able to regain his youth through the consumption of other peoples' souls. He was intrigued by Shao Kahn, the emperor of the Outworld, and joined him, becoming the leader of the cult of Shadow Priests - the most powerful sorcerers in the Outworld.
