The next two designs were 1 and 2-week sketch projects.
The assignment was to redesign a newsstand at a specific location in the city. I took the existing newsstand's context and the pedestrian flow in the area, and generated the above, titanium-clad newsstand.

Here, the objective was to design just the bathroom of a residence for ourselves. Villa Paraiso is situated on a secluded beach. The interior is made of mosiac tile flooring, corrugated metal ceiling, and all sliding doors. The bathroom features a 3-wall, 6'x6' shower. The opening created by the lack of a 4th wall creates a vista of the beach directly outside, while above the shower is a skylight pierced through the metal ceiling.

The following two are final projects from my Junior year, the Spring '00 and Fall '99 semesters, respectively.
An office, residence, and showroom for a designer of any kind, I chose to design for one of my favorite fashion designers, Vivienne Tam. Taking her love of her Chinese culture and the fusion of it with Western culture, I created the above 3-story space.

Using a real site anywhere in the world, I was assigned to create a residence for modern Japanese writer Yukio Mishima. The site I chose is the existing Golden Pavilion - about which he also wrote a book - in Kyoto, Japan. Using the temple's existing shape, I used modern materials such as concrete and glass, while maintaining some of its original woodwork.
