2006/2007 Summit Raceway Speed GT Rules

1. Season

1.1. Schedule
  1.1.1.  The Speed GT Series will generally run every odd Tuesday from October through April
   1.1.1.1.  Non Points Week:  Oct3
   1.1.1.2.  1st Half:  Oct17, Oct31, Nov7, Nov21, Dec5, Dec19, Jan2, Jan16(Enduro)
   1.1.1.3.  2nd Half:  Jan30, Feb6, Feb20, Mar6, Mar20, Apr3, Apr17, May1(Enduro)
  1.1.2.  Team Points Races
   1.1.2.1  Two team points races will be run to conclude each season half.  These will be Enduro or similar races involving each member of the teams.
2.  Car Requirements{Penalty if Failed}
2.1.  Chassis
  2.1.1.  Any 4WD 1:10th Scale Touring Car {DQ}
2.2.  Battery
  2.2.1.  Any 6 Cell 7.2 Vold NiCd or NiMH Battery Pack {DQ}
2.3.  Motor
  2.3.1.  Any 19 Turn or higher (i.e. 21, 23 or 27 turn) Brushed Motor {DQ}
  2.3.2.  Novak 4300 Brushless motor {DQ}
2.4.  Tires
  2.4.1.  Take-Off CS27 {DQ}
2.5.  Body
  2.5.1.  Any 2 Door production sports car body in it's standard or racing version {DQ}
2.6.  General
  2.6.1.  A minimum ride height of 4.0 mm must be maintained at the end of each heat and race {1 lap}
  2.6.2.  A minimum weight of 53 oz. (3 lbs. 5 oz.) Must be maintained at the end of the race {1 lap/oz.}
3.  Team Requirements
3.1.  Teams should be designated by the non-points race (Oct3) but must be designated prior to the first race that that team will participate.
  3.1.1.  Team information and changes should be submitted to the series director in writing prior to the first qualifier on the race day which the new team or change begins.
3.2.  All Team Members must run the same make and model of vehicle.  If in the event that make and model do not match, NO team points can be scored that week.  (Individual points will still be scored as normal.)
4.  General Race Day
4.1.  Racing will start at the posted times
  4.1.1.  Starting times will be 7:00, 7:12, 7:24 etc with subsequent heates starting and races starting 1 hour after the previous heat start time.  Start times may be adjusted by the race director.
  4.1.2.  Drivers missing the start time for their heat or race will start on the opposite side of the track with the turn marshall nearest to the announcer placing their car on the track, after the normal start of the heat/race.
4.2.  Immediately following each heat or race drivers are to deliver cars to tech inspection.
  4.2.1.  The only cars that are not required to be submitted to tech inspection are those that did not complete a lap in the final 20 seconds of the heat or race in question.
4.3.  All Drivers are required to report to the race director immediately after delilvering cars to tech  inspection for turn marshalling assignments.
  4.3.1.  Failure to report for turn marshalling during qualifying or race will result in a 2 lap deduction from their best qualifier from the race.
5.  Qualifying
5.1.Qualifying will of 2 heats
  5.1.1.  First qualifier will be sorted randomly amounst all drivers with each heat being balanced by number of drivers.
  5.1.2.  Second qualifier will be resorted based on the results of the first qualifier.
5.2.  Each heat will be 6 minutes in length
5.3.  Each heat will have as equal as possible a number of drivers not to exceed 8
  5.3.1. During second qualifiers the faster groups of qualifiers will have the higher number of drivers.
5.4.  The top 7 Drivers will qualify for the A Main, qualifiers 8 through 15 will qualify for the B Main all other drivers will be placed into lower mains as equally as possible with no more the 8 drivers per Main.
6.  Race
6.1.  Race will be 6 minutes in length
  6.1.1.  The B main will be run first, followed by all other classes running that night then by the Lowest mains up through C Main.  With the A Main ending the night.
   6.1.1.1.  There will be no less than 10 minutes between the end of the B Main and the start of the A Main.
6.2.  B Main winners will have the option to bump up to the A Main
  6.2.1.  If the B Main winner is not willing or able to make the A Main that driver will receive 8th place.
  6.2.2.  If the B Main winner is not willing or able to make the A Main, the A Main will consist of only 7 Drivers.
7.  Scoring
7.1.  Points will be assigned according to the finishing positions listed below...
      1st 50 pts.         2nd 47 pts.      3rd  45 pts.      4th 43 pts.
      5th 41 pts.        All subsequent positions will receive 1 less point per position.
7.2.  Drops
  7.2.1.  Each Driver will receive 1 drop per half season for determining individual driver standings
  7.2.2.  Each A Driver will receive 1 drop per half season, each B Driver will receive 2 drops per half season and each C Driver will receive 3 drops per half season toward determining team standings.
7.3.  Individual Standings
  7.3.1.  Points standings will be kept for each individual driver for each half season and for the whole season.
  7.3.2.  Each driver will receive 1 drop per half season for determining individual driver points.
  7.3.3.  Team races will not count toward the individual points races.
  7.3.4.  Individual points results will be calculated by taking the total points scored in the half less the dropped points.
7.4.  Team Standings
  7.4.1.  Points Standings will also be kept for each team for each half of the season as well as for the entire season.
  7.4.2.  A Drivers will receive 1 drop per half season, B Drivers 2 drops, and C Drivers 3 drops per half season for the purpose of determing team points standings
  7.4.3.  All team members will receive equal team points for the team races based on the team's finishing position.  (i.e. 1st place in the enduro scores 3x50pts.2nd scores 3x47 etc.)
  7.4.4.  Enduro race results may not be dropped in determining the team points standings.
  7.4.5  Team points results will be calculated by taking the total of all drivers points less the team drops(6) plus the points awarded for the enduro.
