Larry's Garden Pages

Clivia. A houseplant, this is the standard variety. There's a yellow one that costs something like $100 so we decided to pass.

A mix of spring flowering perennials.

Shrub rose "Knockout". The flowers keep coming and coming all summer long. I'm constantly cutting this plant back to keep it in bounds, plus it encourages new flower buds.

Blue dune grass (Leymus arenarius). A gorgeous blue grass but invasive as heck with underground runners. I ended up moving it into a huge pot on the deck.

Mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia). The flowers are bright red while still buds, then when fully open they're (unfortunately) a lighter pink.

Purple Poppy Mallow (Callirhoe involucrata). Long, wandering stems that radiate from the central rosette. Beautiful deep red flowers throughout the summer. Very drought tolerant once established since it has a deep taproot.
