Secret - 1st single off of this mostly R&B based album went to # 3. Best song on the album. This is one of Madonna's greatest songs liked by all people. It was # 1 in Canada for 10 weeks (her most weeks at # 1 out of everywhere in the world) Thank you Canada!The video is not as great as the song. She basically sits in a jazz lounge in Harlem for like 90% of the video and then finally gets off her ass and goes to visit her man who has a kid. .(I assume thats the secret). The remix video has so much extra footage of her walking down the street and singing and other outtakes, they should have used more of those outtakes in the real videoPeople say she looks like a heroin-adict in this video... I love it!!! God Bless the designer of that shirt she's wearing! mmm mmm mmm!!!

I'd rather be your lover - Madonna's worst song, in my opinion, ever! YUCK! I hate that noise in the beginning. Especially that it kills the beautiful feeling I get after hearing the ending of Secret. Horrible and some rapper yacking away about something goes on about 2/3 into the song. Theres some remix featuring 2pac in it out there. Grade = F! p.s. She mentions that happiness lies in your hand in this song too.

Don't Stop - This song isn't as great either. Yes, I know for the 9742 time, it got more airplay then Human Nature. Many say that this is "the dance song" of the album. I can't really dance to this, unless I don't move my feet. The beginning of this reminds me of the beginning of Waterfalls by T.L.C..

Inside of me - An ode to her mother. It's the Promise To Try of the 90s. This precious song discusses how she will always hold and keep the memories of her mother inside of her.

Human Nature - 4th and final single which seemed to fall asleep at # 46 for 3 whole weeks! What a shame! Yes, it peaked there =( I didn't want to say it but I have to. Many say this song did not do well b/c Bedtime Story did not do well. That statement is a load of crap and is very ignorant. "And I'm not sorry..." But, the video is one of her very best, it is a non-fan favorite as well as a fan favorite. It was up for a couple of awards but I believe it lost them all to "scream" by Michael & Janet Jackson. The U.S. maxi of this is one of her worst, but the U.K. version is really cool (figures). This video would be her last really cool video. After this one, she mellowed out on us. But looking at the Music video, it seems as though she's coming back. Good.

Forbidden love - Why make a top ten hit and not release it? This song fits in the same genre as Take a bow. She did NOTHING with this song but throw it on her 1995 Something To Remember album. Yeah, I really wanna remember that you do NOTHING with outstanding songs Madonna. I'm wondering why this 'love' is a 'forbidden' issue? Is it an age thing? incest? homo? distance? race? all of them?

Love tried to welcome me - Finding a person who likes this song is rarer then finding the Spotlight single. I belive this is the longest song on the album. The beat is relaxing but it's too "alright enough already". My friend says the beginning sounds like the Francesco Rinaldi commercial.

Sanctuary - B-side to Human Nature. I have no idea what shes talking about in this song. Her vocals sound beautiful here and the beat is spooky. Sounds like Paradise (not for me). I think she wants to convey that she doesnt need all the things in the world she just wants you (her love).? Anyway this song leads us right into her first non top 40 hit in over 12 years.....

Bedtime story - 3rd single which peaked at # 42. This ended her string of top 40 hits started way way back in 1983 with Holiday. (Take A Bow was still in the top 40 when this was at 42). Many claim that this did not do well b/c Take a bow did so well. That statement is 100% bullshit. Madonna did not write this song in any way. I love it. I have never heard this song on the radio. I truely believe that if a shot from the video was on the single cover, it would have hit top 40. I also feel that naming the song "Unconscious" would have been more appropriate. In some countries, this single came with a book containing all the words of this song. I love the sound in this song. I want an instrumental! The video is her most expensive yet (1.4+ million), and it is my all time favorite. Where we go on a journey through her dream/nightmare and the art work and imagery are outgrageous. Take a bow - 2nd single and her 11th to hit # 1!!!! It was at number one for 7 weeks! Breaking her own personal record of Like a virgin's 6 weeks reign. "I've always been in love with youuuuuuuuuuuu..." I can't believe that this of all songs on this album is the highest peaker. The song/video is about being in love with a famous person and it doesn't work out in the end. "Sayyyyyyy Goodbyeeeeee..." Unfortunately, this would be Madonna's last # 1 single in the 90s for the U.S.
