MADONNA POETRY

H O M A G E   T O   M A D O N N A - by Josh Deb Barman (**joint winner of poll in AFM**)

You dance before me, swaying,
Your voice, so full of power, playing
Upon the souls of those who hear you,
Entranced; for your voice has a celestial hue.
And your snow-white face
With deep and dark eyes and figure of grace,
Bewitches all who see you move,
Sometimes sorrowful, else in the groove
Of the joy of life that grows in the rain,
That sprang from the sky as you came,
Down from heaven like a ray of light,
That heals my soul when you enter my sight.
Like a chameleon, you blur before my eyes,
Always beautiful, like a desert sunrise.
No more shall I walk away, heavy of heart,
For we are together, till death do us part.

The darkness was my hiding place, for me, the world could not see,
I was frightened, bewildered and confused
When my first love was taken from me,
I couldn't comprehend why this has to be,
Oh Father in heaven, I prayed, please set my mom free.
In my search for love, I rose to fame,
My dream being to conquer the world and put my personal demons to shame...

It seemed I found comfort from the love of my fans.
But something was missing, I needed a man.
One day I met and fell in love with Sean,
And I knew then, that without him, my life couldn't go on.
But he used and abused me and I felt despair.
I cried to God silently, whispering "Life is Unfair."

I almost gave up and shattered my dreams,
The media kept hounding me and I wish my success hadn't been.
There is not much privacy in this life I choose,
But I have learned to live and accept it while keeping my self amused.

My fans have made me what I am today,
I don't care if they are straight, bisexual, or gay.
The love I lossed when I was a child,
Now lives in me thru Lourdes eyes.

M A D O N N A - T.J. Tallie

Like the rapturous pace of a moving flame
So is the thrill upon hearing her name
A fiery spirit encased in a frame
So small and petite, appearing quite tame
Yet we know the truth, this we do know
That small and tame do not describe Mo.

An ever cascading Ray of Light,
She orbits and circles, just past our sight;
No eras no fashions seem to pass her by
No matter the place, she'll Promise to Try.
Her voice is quite average, but her presense immense;
Not to mention that woman's mad fashion sense.

Yes! Madonna is the goddess of pop
And she'll keep on singing; Nay, she won't stop;
Through two lengthy decades, our singer's still there;
Through changes in costume, in makeup, in hair.
And for two decades now, she's impressed the world;
Our Angel, Lucky Star, our Material Girl.

Hey Maddie
You're so fine
You're so fine
You blow my mind.

M A D O N N A,   M A D O N N A - by Ilana

Madonna Madonna,
We love you so,
Thought you were fucking excellent,
In you very last show.
Why oh why must you make us wait,
We are desperate here,
Set a tour date!
American Pie,
Love it or not,
Should of chucked Rupert,
He nearly made it flop.
Guy is fine
Better than most
"The father son, and the holy ghost."
From Susan to Abi,
Nicky to Rebecca,
We love you still
You bet'cha!
Mariah, Celine,
They are no match for you.
Infact, they kinda make me wanna spew.
So comes the end of my phat poem,
Street pop chick,
Marilyn was so "in,"
Foxy mama,
Eva Peron,
Turn plenty of men,
Into "bone."

T H E   I C O N - by Mr Lee

An ac-tor never will she be,
A singer sometimes forced to sing off key,
A wife who got her face beat,
The doner who's ass hit the street,
A sister that just wanted to sleep,
A brother that just watched sis *bleep*,
Arms that are almost too hairy,
Close my eyes I need not be wary,
She's no acrobat,
Nor no fish,
A great Mother is she,
'least she wants to be.
