An Interview With A Halloween Beauty

Your illustrious HalloweeN webmaster had the pleasure to contact Tawny Moyer from Halloween II.  Nurse Jill is one of the most famous characters in Halloween history.  I had the great chance ask her 14 awesome questions regarding her role in Halloween II during the winter of 2003.  Here are the results of that interview.

OK, Mike, here's the interview. I enjoyed it, hope you do too. Talk to you soon, Tawny

1. How did you get the role for Halloween II? My agent sent me on a cold reading.

2. What are your most fondest memories on the set of Halloween II? One of my favorite things was the preparation for the movie. Besides being fitted for our nurse uniforms, we nurses were all treated to a research trip to the hospital. This is how we learned to give a proper shot and take blood pressure and a few other things which were required knowledge for the movie.

3. What was it like to be killed by Michael Myers?? It was everything. It was scary when he first appeared and funny when I think of the grip yanking me up in the air for my final moment, and inspired when the director, Rick gave me a note after watching the first run-through. Rick directed me to let my shoes drop one at a time. Brilliant!

4. When did you first see Halloween II on film and what did you think when you watched your own death scene? We had a big screening on the Universal Lot for the movie's debut. I brought my parents. When my death scene started I suddenly realized that watching me take my final breath was really going to upset my Mom. And it did! I don't think she ever watched it again.

5. What were your impressions of the Michael Myers mask? (What do you think of when you see it) I thought it was creepy!

 6. How do the Halloween fans treat you? What is your best experience with a Halloween fan? Halloween fans are very sweet and I enjoy hearing from them. At the Halloween II reunion, in Pasadena, I especially enjoyed watching the movie acted out word for word by Jonathan, who is a fan. He was hilarious! He's a fan!

7. What was it like to work with Jamie Lee Curtis? Jamie Lee was sweet. She's a team player.

8. What did you think about your character? What type of person was she? I wanted Jill to be innocent and wide-eyed. A good girl who tries to be one of the guys.

 9. Have you ever met or worked with other Halloween characters/directors? No, I haven't worked again with any of the Hall II characters, sorry to say. However, I see Leo Rossi once a year at a mutual friend's Christmas party, and Pam Shoop and I have renewed our friendship since the Halloween II 25th Anniversary Convention.

10. What are your favorite movies? Favorite actor? Favorite actress? I love movies for sentimental reasons. MoviesI love: The Sound of Music, Klute, Being There, Harold & Maude, La Belle et la Bete, The Hunger. Actresses I love: Katharine Denuve, Kate Blanchet, Jessica Lang, Diane Keaton, Kim Novak, Audry Hepburn, Charlize Theron, Goldie Hawn. Marilyn Monroe Actors: Patrick St. Esprit (my husband), Tommy Lee Jones, Harrison Ford, Robert Redford, Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Newman, Robert Mitchum, Cary Grant, Harry Dean Stanton, Johnny Dep. To name just a few that I can think of at the moment.

11.Who were the biggest influences in your life? My parents.

12. What are you currently doing and what is the address of that website again???? I am currently acting and modeling. My website is http://www.tawnymoyer.com/

13. Is there anything that you would change about your role in Halloween II? I don't know, it's hard to watch yourself on film. I don't think it's natural to really feel comfortable. I do like the death scene, though. It is more like a dance that we choreographed. I'm proud of how it translated onto film.

14. Who were your favorite people to work with on the set of Halloween II? The stunt man, Dick Warlock, ...he's the real deal! And of course, all the actors!

Mike's Halloween Homepage would love to thank Ms. Moyer for her time and efforts in regards to this interview
