Councilmembers:
Why are we here? To create a safer, more comfortable environment in which to work? Or to coerce one segment of the population into compliance with what another segment wants?
Allowing special-interest groups to influence legislation and restrict property rights is not productive and that has been proven again and again.
A bar owner in CA is being sued by the state for allowing his customers to smoke. One of the grounds is "unfair competition" meaning he's taking customers away from "law-abiding" bars. Then why isn't this proposed ordinance "Restraint of Trade" perpetrated by an outside group of agitators in collusion with our own lawmakers. I believe every business owner who has been deprived of his dominion over his own private property to his detriment has a course of action against all who aided in that Restraint of Trade.
