I went to see the new MATRIX movie on the IMAX theater up at City Walk. Was not worth the price I paid. I enjoyed the movie enough, but would have been happy to see it on a regular screen. The war scene was awesome. The ending was a little disapointing though, as I guess they wanted to make sure they wouldn't be able to do another sequel with the main characters. That's all I'm gonna say about it.
I bought TERMINATOR 3 on DVD. If you remember, I totally dissed this movie after I saw it in the theaters. I think I was brain dead or something when I saw it, cuz after I got the DVD, I vegged in my room for 2 days and kept watching it over and over again. What the hell was wrong with me? The DVD Extras are great, especially the deleted scene that they ended up using for the video game instead. You find out how they got the model for the Terminator character.
FREDDY VS JASON! Saw it in the theater twice, was able to get my hands on a bootleg DVD and then bought the release on January 13th. hehe, my favorite movie so far. I wish there was an Oscar given away for best Horror Movie or Horror Character or something in the horror genre. This movie is not only the highest grossing horror movie, but was number 1 for two weeks in a row at the box office and held on in the top 10 for 4 or 5 weeks I believe. Pretty good for a horror movie with 20 + years behind it with 17 movies between them. Ronnie Yu might have been very new to the two franchises, but that is what I think made this movie so good. He totally gave them a new life. Looking forward to part 2.
THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT. For anyone who was tricked like me into thinking this was a horror movie, it's not. The only blood you see is the bloody noses Ashton has every so often. It's more of a psychological thriller. Ashton's character figures out that he can go back into his past and change things, but eveytime he does, something else goes wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I think Ashton pulled off this character very well, and I hope he does some more movies like this.
