HANDICAP PARKING SPACES

I know we live in a politically correct society and I'm probably going to get smacked for this one, but what the hell is up with handicap parking spaces?

We're all supposed to be created equally right.  Why do us so called normal people have to suffer because someone was born with an extra toe or a permanent limp or whatever qualifies people to be handicapped.

Why do I have to park in the back of a parking lot?

Well, here's my ranting and raving, ready.

If you are handicapped, why the hell are you driving?  Why should I or anyone else be put in danger of someone who is handicapped behind the wheel of a 2 ton weapon?  This is basically what is wrong with this picture.  Why don't they have other people go and get stuff for them?  Do you know how many vans I've seen that actually park in a handicap space in the last 13 years?  Maybe 5 at the most.  What I see mostly, is people driving like crazy to get to that spot in the front of the store, then they pull out their little blue handicap parking thingy with the wheelchair symbol on it and they get out of the car and walk normally into the store.  I like the people that pull into a handicap spot and they don't have the blue thingy and they get out of their car and fake limp into the store.  That's another thing, I have yet to see anybody with one of those blue thingies get out of their car and get into a wheelchair.

Old people are the worse.  They get a handicap parking thingy, why, because they got old.  Most of them are embarrassed to admit that they are old until they pull into a handicap parking space and then they pull out the little blue thingy.  What about the old lady who can hardly see over the dashboard, has a blue thingy hanging on her mirror and freaks out if you get too close to her vehicle, then drives 70-80 miles an hour in a 35 mph zone, with her damn blinker on for blocks.  Yeah, that's handicapped.  Get out of the car and go home lady.
