| Welcome to the 2005-2006 School Year. It should be an exciting year for both you and me. I will be teaching 2 brand new courses this school year so I too will have quite a bit of work to do. I look forward to a year filled with interesting learning adventures and I hope you do too! BIOLOGY I: Unit One: 4 weeks Aug 29 - Sept. 23, 2005 What is Science/Biology? Unit - Scientific Method, Lab Safety, Skills of a Biologist, and What does Alive Mean? UNIT TEST: September 23, 2005 Unit 2: 7 weeks Sept. 26 - Nov. 11, 2005 Cell Unit: What is a cell? Where do you find cells? How big is a cell? How do cells work? These and many other questions will be answered in this unit. Students will be involved in many hands-on activities including microscope labs and either the project "A Cell is like a City" or "Building a Cell Model" UNIT TEST: November 11, 2005 Important Note: You will have a WOW (Word of the Week Quiz almost every week) BIOLOGY C: (NEW COURSE) Unit One: 6 weeks Aug 29 - Oct. 7, 2005 Unit 1 - Scientific Method and Experimental Design. Included in this unit will be lab safety and skills of a life scientist. UNIT TEST: October 7, 2005 |
