Christy Blankenship

 
Mrs. Christy Blankenship graduated from Man High School in Man, WV.  She continued her
education at Marshall University where she earned a B.A. Degree in Language Arts 5-12 and Social 
Studies 5-8 in 1995.

Mrs. Blankenship started subbing in Boone County in 1996.  She taught Language Arts at Logan
Middle School in 1997 and came to Madison Middle School teaching Language Arts in 1998.

Extra Activities Mrs. Blankenship is involved with at Madison Middle are Spelling Bee Coordinator, 
Writing Assessment Coordinator and College Education Curriculum.  She is a member of the West 
Virginia Education Association.  Mrs. Blankenship attended college on a full academic scholarship, 
received the Underwood Smith Teaching Scholarship and was President of Sigma Tau Delta (English Honorary).

Mrs. Blankenship enjoys supporting the Lady Hawks basketball team and church.  She worked several
summers for WV Department of Education scoring Writing Assessments.

Her hobbies include reading, decorative painting, restoring old furniture, playing piano and guitar, 
listening to music, shopping withe her niece, walking and hiking.  Her favorite
quote is "The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God endures forever." -Isaiah 40:8 and 
"Nothing is so strong as gentleness."
