~Generation Ranting~ (Kindred)
The VTM background “Generation” maxes at 5 points, just as any other background would.
Max Out verb : Reach a maximum; "I maxed out on all my credit cards"
5 points : 8th gen
4 points : 9th gen
3 points : 10th gen
2 points : 11th gen
1 point : 12th gen
Just making sure everyone has an idea on how that works, watch out for them vampires 7th gen or lower PC's, they don’t seem to know what they are doing, much less be aware of it ;)
~Reproduction Ranting~
Kindred : No, typical cainites/kindred class vampires cannot have children. They are UNDEAD, womb doesn’t work for women, and the males don’t produce the proper bodily fluids anymore for this sort of thing. Thinblood type vampires however, it is speculated due to some of their flaws, it’s possible they still may be able to have children. This in sense without the act of siring another is the ONLY way any birthing could come about these walkers of the night. (Dampires usually live in fear, they as an existing race are usually marked with a KoS.)
Cathayans : Only with a temporary yang imbalance, and even then that is considered a bad thing. Cathayans just can’t have kids whenever they want. When they do have kids, they generally are Dampires as well, which makes them an outcast from most cathayan circles.
Garou : Garou + Garou = metis, simply said, while not impossible, NO this is generally not a good thing..
~Other game ranting~
Highlanders : HAH! Get bent.. White wolf did not make a highlander game, if it's not white wolf official, it doesn’t exist. Say hello to my imaginary friend Mr.IncompetentRper, he is about as real as your highlanders ;).
~App 5 Ranting~
I just looooove how the streets, buildings, and every dark alleyway is filled with people who have app 5. I bet I can go to one of those convenience store candy machines, pop in a quarter and get ten app 5 people to take home with me.[/sarcasm]. Seriously though, there’s nothing particularly wrong with a few individuals who have app5, but it isn’t for everyone. Not saying app 5 doesn’t exist (it does exist), but there should be about as many app5 people throughout the entire world, as there have been people on the moon. Could you possibly defeat the purpose of app 5 any more by putting everyone with it in 1 place?
~Behavior ranting~
Elders : Yeaaaaah, uhh A lotta ground to cover here. The older a vampire gets, the less they tend to roam around. Disciplines advance and provide vampires with ways in which they don’t have to hunt and practice being a stalker. Inevitably the concept of having ghouls and a herd comes around, by the time a vampire is 500-700, generally there is little reason for them to go running through the streets screaming “BLOOD OMG BLOOD”, Elders as per the name ELDER are expected to be like elders, not like neonates.
So how do elders act? : While there is no set “specifics” for each unique individual, it is known that the clan the vampire is attributed to generally has some sort of effect on them, to some degree as they continue to notice they aren’t quite humans anymore (It’s not a lie to say clan flaws and strengths, play a part in how they develop ways to overcome their specific inferiorities). All in all if you for some reason, have to rp a vampire char from the roman age (or around that time), you’re probably an incompetent rper ;). But seriously, lets be honest, vampires older than 700 years old, have almost completely given up on trying to be a human again, and thus have separated themselves from most emotions (As it is seen as a weakness among elders within some clans). They just don’t walk the streets in groups saying "Hi how’s it going, want to buy some of my stuff?", no no they generally have flunkies who are bloodbound ghouls, who they can pick on to do this for them ;) While this isn’t a requirement of every elder to have ghouls or a herd, in which case some elders are torped for 400 years and the times have changed for them, it still doesn’t mean they are helpless to establish themselves in some sort of circle. Stronger and more developed elders can make it very easy to be unseen, or have reason to get up off their rears and do something themselves. That is a fair expectation of every elder.
OOC : If at any time you have to go OOC and insult someone because you don’t have the courage to ask for a "black out" or "scene null", or tell them you just don’t like where a scene is going, then maybe you shouldn’t be playing whitewolf games? Behind your “uber mega godly 5++ stats” (which a lot of other people seem to have lately), we’re all only human players, and it’s all only a game.
Unmods Specific * White Wolf Chat (Entryway) : Sometimes here things get sad and sometimes they are funny. All people generally do is sit there and talk about how bad other people RP. While this is not entirely a bad thing (some people learn who the really bad players are, and who to honestly stay away from) it is still sad in the sense the game has degenerated to the point where some people have nothing better to do than specifically talk about each other behind their backs. The latter is generally how things tend to go. A poor state of affairs indeed. However In this sense, I imagine if things were not as bad as they were, then no one would be talking about it as the “hot topic of the day”. It may be educational to get your daily gossip and listen to other people talk about their stories, or who is a new face on the SoAndSo’s blacklist. Perhaps the permanent flaw of unmods, it is, as the name states, forever unmods.
