The Messenger of Allaah [sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam] said: The best of mankind is my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Al-Bukhaaree (2482, 6022) & Muslim (6150 ff.). Surely, I have left among you that which if you stick to, you shall never go astray: the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of his Prophet sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam. Reported by Al-Haakim [Talkhees-ul-Mustadrak, 318] and Maalik [Al-Muwatta' , Kitaab: Al-Jaami`, Baab: An-Nahy `anil-Qawl bil-Qadr]. The best speech is the Book of Allaah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad [sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam], and the worst of matters are newly invented ones and every bid`ah is a misguidance and every misguidance leads into the Hell-fire. Saheeh Muslim(1885); Saheeh Sunan An-Nasaaee (1487); Saheeh Ibn Khuzaimah (1785). Whoever amongst you lives after me will see much discord. So hold fast to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided Khulafaa after me. Adhere to them and cling to them by your teeth, and beware of newly invented matters (in the Religion) for every bid`ah is misguidance. Recorded by Ahmad (4/126), Abu Daawood (4607), Ibn Maajah (43,44), At-Tirmidhee (2676) [who said: Hasan Saheeh], Al-Haakim (1/95-96) [who said: Saheeh. It has no weakness and Adh-Dhahabee agreed], Ibn Hibbaan in his Saheeh (5) and others. It was also authenticated by Ibn Hajar, Ibn Rajab, Ibn Katheer, Ibn-ul-Qayyim, Ibn `Abd-il-Barr, Al-Albaanee and others. Whoever introduces in this Sharee`ah of ours what is not from it, then it is rejected. Al-Bukhaaree (2550, 6849); Muslim (1718) and others. Whoever performs a deed not in accordance with our Sharee`ah, then it is rejected. Muslim (1718, 2985) and others. There is no deed that will make you closer to Jannah except that I have ordered you to do it, and there is no deed that will make you closer to the Fire except that I have forbidden it to you. Reported by Al-Haakim. Graded Saheeh by Al-Albaanee [Saheeh-ut-Targheeb, 1700]. There is nothing left that will make you closer to Jannah or distance you from the Fire except that it has been clearly conveyed to you. Reported by At-Tabaraanee [Al-Mu`jam-ul-Kabeer, 1647]. Its Isnaad was graded Saheeh by `Alee Al-Halabee [`Ilm Usool-il-Bid`, p. 19]. Verily, Allaah has veiled At-Taubah from every person of bid`ah until he leaves his bid`ah. Reported by At-Tabaraanee, Ad-Diyaa' Al-Maqdisee [Al-Ahaadeeth-ul-Mukhtaarah, 2054, 2055], Ibn Abi `Aasim [As-Sunnah, 37] and others. Graded authentic by Al-Mundhiree and Al-Albaanee [As-Saheehah, 1620; Zilaal-ul-Jannah, 37]. Allaah has cursed the person who protects an innovator. [Saheeh Muslim, 4878] On the Day of Judgement, the innovators will be barred from the Fountain of Al-Kauthar. [Al-Bukhaaree, 6583-4; Muslim, 2290] Hudhaifah ibn Al-Yamaan [radiyallaahu `anhu] said: Do not perform any act of worship that was not practised by the Companions of Allaah's Messenger [sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam]. Reported by Ibn Battah [Al-Ibaanah]. `Abdullaah ibn `Umar [radiyallaahu `anhumaa] said: Every bid`ah is misguidance, even if the people consider it good (hasanah). Reported by Al-Baihaqee [Al-Madkhal ilas-Sunan, 191]; Ibn Nasr in [As-Sunnah, 70]; Al-Laalikaaee[Sharh Usool I`tiqaad Ahl-is-Sunnah, 126]; Abu Shaamah [Al-Baa`ith, 39] and Ibn Battah [Al-Ibaanah, 205]. Graded Saheeh by Al-Albaanee [As-Saheehah, 2735] and others. Al-Imaam Maalik ibn Anas said: Whoever introduces into Islam a bid`ah then indeed, he has alleged that Muhammad [sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam] has betrayed the trust of conveying the Message, because Allaah says: This day I have completed your Religion for you...(5:3) Therefore, whatever was not part of the Religion then, cannot be part of it today. Recorded by Ash-Shaatibee in Al-I`tisaam (1/64-65). |
