Diwali is also known as Deepavali, Dipavali, Dewali, Deepawali, or the Festival of Lights.
The festival usually falls between the middle of october and the middle
of november. The festival is marked by large firework displays, to
remember the celebrations which according to the legend, took place
upon Rama's return as locals set ooff their own version of fireworks.
Food that will be serve during the festival is Indian sweets, which
come in range of colours and flavours.The most popular food is ladoo,
jalebi, gulab jamun, and barfi. Families will mostly prepare food
at home for guests to exchange gifts and watch fireworks. The five days
festival is divided as Dhanteras (day 1), Naraka Chaturdasi (day 2),
Lakshmi Puja (day 3), Padwa Balipratipada (day 4), and Bhai Duj and
Bhai Dooji (day 5). During the celebration pepole will wear new cloths
such as sari and dhoti.
