  • The origins of this part of my site are pretty inter-twined with the happenings of Sept 11 - and what followed thereafter. In many ways, trying to understand the happenings led me "down the rabit hole", and became the blueprint of this page.

The attack on WTC was undoubtedly disastrous and unsettling. The image of the plane ramming through the Twin Towers was chilling and saddening at the same time. It seemed such a mad and irrational act to do...

But what followed, was in many ways even worse. In the next couple of days, as one followed the news on the mainstream media, the repetitive images and commentaries, simplistic explanations by "experts", and the metaphor of "War on Terror" became increasingly depressing, suspect and fatiguing. There seemed to be no attempt, either in media or in the governments to seriously discuss the "why", to understand the psyche of the people who can commit such an act, to look at the implications of "going on war"...

Searching for alternative perpectives, I became even more acutely aware that, after all, media is also a business, and even in times like these, media companies are selling something - even if it is terrorist attack, war or death...

...and one must concede that they are doing it pretty well.

After all, if there was no action on the ground, it is the media industry which pays the price of government's inaction!!!

What, at that time, started as a few insights into the "other side" of the story, e.g.,

...over a period of time, became an intriguing and fascinated area of study. It is like looking through The Matrix into the labyrinth in which war, trade, terrorism, politics, IMF, media, Revolutions, globalisation, drugs, WTO, etc. melt into a surrealistic reality...

...and so I decided to create this page to keep my links of alternative perspectives and news. Have put it on the site, so that others can also have a look if interested.
