Motions
‘n’ Emotions
Mechanics are like muscles, much sinewy
Electrons and emotions are messy and gooey
The one holds you steady, like a protector's grip
The other take you around on ecstatic trips
But fleeting they are, and suddenly gone!
Like the mystical beauty of a transient dawn.
Nuts and bolts, cranks and pulleys
And an ancient city's lanes and alleys
Hold you in charm, in a measured manner
You can reach them on foot, or with a spanner
But ecstatic electrons take you high
Energise, enthrall and leave you dry
A gadget in trouble, is like a dead-gone body
A spent affair, its memories gaudy
Muscles and mechanics evoke nostalgia
Offer painful pleasure, even when not here!
