I can't even begin to think of how I may express my distaste for my next subject...
At the time I type this... Vermont Judge Edward Cashman made national headlines by sentencing a man who REPEATEDLY raped a girl from the time she was 6 until she was 10 years old to 60 days in jail! Four years of hell injected into what is supposed to be the "Innocent" years of a childs life, and this asshole loses TWO MONTHS?!? I detest child molesters. They are vile. If you have sex with a child that young, You have NO RIGHT to walk this planet. Where was the Mother for four years? There are SO MANY unanswered questions.
But this is certain. Sixty days is an insult. To the child, The Mother, Parents everywhere.
The crime is inexcusable, The sentence is worse.
Ths judge needs to be immediately removed from his post. He should no longer be trusted with protecting society from criminals. YES THAT IS WHAT JAIL IS FOR!! Not for "rehabilitation", For punishment. To remove a threat until he is no longer a threat.

Update: Well, This dirtbag DID get resentenced. The Government "Clariffied" it's tharapy policy making it available to this idiot, So the Judge reconsidered and upped the sentence to 3-10 years. That's a step in the right direction... But, Would I be out of line if I said that I hoped his "Therapy" would consist of being locked in a cell with a serial chicken-fucker where he'll find himself in positions he never though possible?
Since the beginning, Critics have said the Air Marshall program will never work, There's not enough of them, There's no consistancy to the flights they are on, And, What would they do if they have to confront a potential threat.
We got a taste of that today. As of the time I write this, It appears that a lone, deranged individual who was in need of medication did the wrong thing at the wrong time.
But it appears to me that the Marshalls responded in the perfect manor. They trained, They learned, and they took out a possible threat BEFORE he could harm anyone.
He announced that he had a bomb in his bag. He then reached INTO the bag ( While NOT complying with officers demands ) and they shot him. No prolonged battles, No negotiations, They dropped him with one or two well placed shots. Just as the Israeli's would have done.
To the officers, I say "Well done, and thank you" Because now THEIR hell begins as every second of the encounter is picked apart over and over by people who weren't there and probably will never face a situation even close to this.
On top of all the pressure put on them by the media, and all these groups that are going to spring up with the stories of how this poor victim who just needed a pill was murdered by cold government killing machines, They also have to face themselves knowing that they ended a life.
They will face him again and again, Each time wondering if there was another way.
They faced a nightmare that I hope I never will. If I ever do, I hope I have the courage and conviction to respond exactly the same way they did.
I'm glad they were there.
I guess "no news is Good news" I can only hope this means that the marshalls have been cleared and returned to duty. Has anyone heard anything else about this case?

Is there anything in this world that is NOT caused by global warming? I am so sick of hearing all this crap... Here's a newsflash for you...
Global Warming is big business. Scientists and universities get paid fat dollars to "research" it. If they say it desn't exist, Then all these mofo's have to get new jobs. So... Don't rock the boat.
If scientist can't predict the weather tomorrow... Then how the hell do they know what's going to happen ten years from now? Eh?
If it's a hot day... Global Warming! Cold? Global Warming. If it snows before thanksgiving, or 60 degrees on Christmas... The answer's always the same. And how do we stop it? We ( The USA ) has to stop doing everything that made us the great nation we are, And the rest of the world doesn't have to do shit.
China's economy is growing at an alarming rate. Not one word about THEIR fuel usage. All of Europe's portrayed as a utopia of ecological harmony. But WE are destroying the world.
What proof do we have that it's actually occuring?
Here's a task... Have three different people measure a wooden board. Do all three agree on the length? Even if they're using the same tape measure, They can't agree. Now... Try giving each a different tool. Then what happens? Now, How about using tools from a couple of hundred years ago. How can they possibly be compared to measurements taken today? Almost everything science knows about the past just boils down to a guess. Maybe a better guess than I would be able to make, But still a guess.
So, Where's the proof? Until I see it, Shut up about my SUV.
