The Esmeraldas' Triumph entered the Canyon of Teeth, the name was a fitting description of the maze of jagged canyons cut through the Zenar Mountains by the Stone River. The wind were whipping the airship hard, this is what made the Canyon of Teeth so dangerous was the unpredictable winds that could smash an airship into the jagged canyon walls. The crew had pulled the sails in and was letting the swift winds carry them through the canyon.
Sam slowly emerged from below and found Sebastian and Gabriel piloting the ship. " How is it?" asked Sam.
" The wind is really biting" said Sebastian, " its getting harder to navigate through this."
" This wind should break up in a few minutes" said Gabriel, " once this canyon intersects with the next the wind should die down a bit."
" That is what you said last time" said Sebastian, " it just got worse."
" This was your idea" said Gabriel, " remember that, I would have been fine with taking the slow road back but your avarice brought us here."
" Quit bitching and keep your eyes open" said Sebastian.
Sam walked back into the galley where the rest of the crew was sitting. " So how is it?" asked Elanna.
" They are about ready to kill one another" said Sam, " so we probably are in serious trouble."
A violent gust of wind shook the ship pushing it dangerously close to the rocks on the right side, " I think it is a safe beat we are in serious trouble" said Tanis.
Dirk was pacing from one side of the flying deck to the next, Harold was on his post giving directions. It has been days since they had a solid lead on Sebastian and he was getting antsy. " They are there" said Harold, slowly swinging back and forth on the pool.
" The Canyon of Teeth?" asked Dirk.
" Yes" said Harold, " trying to make a quick escape."
" Then let's follow them" said Dirk.
" But Dirk" said one of the crewmen, " the Canyon of Teeth is dangerous and in this wind?"
" Yes in this wind" said Dirk, " we have to get our prize back from them at any cost."
The Black Raider entered the canyon mouth and the wind began to push the ship along at a fast pace. " Run up the forward guns" said Dirk, " let's show Sebastian Martell that he isn't the only with cannons."
From the bow of the Black Raider two cannons slowly pushed out. Dirk smirked, they were his now. " Tell the gunners to fire when in range" said Dirk, a smirk on his lips.
A thunderous explosion shook the Esmeraldas' Triumph as the canyon wall exploded tossing rocks across the deck. Both Sebastian and Gabriel turned and saw the Black Raider. " When did they get cannons?" asked Gabriel.
Another shot whizzed past them and slowly fell to the cannon floor well ahead of them. " I don't know but those are Dwarves manning them or we would be dead by now" said Sebastian.
" Thank god Dirk is a cheap bastard" said Gabriel.
The third shot hit the canyon wall well behind them, by that time the entire crew was on deck watching the Black Raider chase them. " HA!" shouted Tanis, " you sissies couldn't hit an ogre in the ass with one of those."
Another cannon ball whizzed over the deck and fell to earth again but this time closer to the Esmeraldas' Triumph. " But they are getting better" said Gabriel, " we'll have to loose them."
Sebastian and Gabriel spun the wheel hard and the airship slowly turned into a side canyon. The Black Raider turned after them and nearly missed colliding with the wall.
Another volley of cannon balls exploded into the canyon walls behind them. Suddenly an arrow struck the wheel between Sebastian and Gabriel. Gabriel took the arrow off and found a piece of paper around the shaft.
Crew of Esmeraldas Triumph
You have got no chance of escape, give us the Fairy or we will blow your ship to pieces.
Crew of the Black Raider
" At least his grammar has improved" said Gabriel.
" But we don't have the Red Fairy anymore" said Elanna.
" Details" said Sebastian, " I know this ship is faster than that old moldy heap. I just need to find a fast channel to get us out of range of those guns."
" There" said Gabriel.
" How can you tell?" asked Sebastian.
Gabriel pointed to the remains of several smashed ships in among the jagged rocks.
Dirk watched as the Esmeraldas' Triumph suddenly slipped into the next canyon and rocketed ahead like an arrow. " NO!" shouted Harold, " Goblyns be there."
" We can't let them escape" said Dirk.
" Next canyon, we can get ahead of them before they leave but after the Goblyns get them" said Harold.
The Esmeraldas' Triumph sailed along at breakneck speed, " I think we've lost them" said Audrey, looking back, " you know this is kinda fun."
" Yah, as long as you aren't looking at the massive rocks on either side" said Elsenor, turning green.
" If we follow this course we'll be out of this mess in two or three hours" said Gabriel, talking through the map he held in his teeth.
" SHIT!" meowed Audrey, racing past Sebastian and Gabriel and disappearing into the interior of the ship.
The sky became dark making everyone look up, " Shit" said Elanna.
The entire sky was almost filled with Goblyn blimps, " We're in trouble" said Sebastian.
Twang was laughing hysterically, he finally had them trapped. " Crax" he said, " signal the other ships to deliver the assault troops."
" Aye" said Crax, still wrapped in bandages from his last encounter with the crew of the Esmeraldas' Triumph, " my troops will be ready as well."
" Excellent" said Twang, " soon I will have the secret to immortality in my grasp."
Crax raised three multi-coloured flags and the large war blimps started moving in.
Sebastian and Gabriel looked up as harpoons began to thud into the deck from the blimps above. Dozens of Goblyns began to slide down the ropes on hooks. Gabriel waited until enough Goblyns were on the deck before ringing the bell that was hung on the railing.
Tanis kicked the doors open and pulled the lanyard. The cannon fired, ripping through the Goblyns on the deck, splattering everything with green blood and chunks of foul smelling skin. More and more Goblyns kept sliding down, filling the deck. Tanis lit two cannon balls and threw out them, he would worry about the holes in the deck later. Two more explosions ripped across the deck, throwing Goblyns high into the air and over the side. Goblyns began to run up the steps to the flying deck. Both Sebastian and Gabriel drew their swords and tried the tricky maneuver of keeping the ship on course and fending off the attacking Goblyns.
One Goblyn managed to hit Sebastian with the butt of his axe knocking him away from the wheel. The entire ship suddenly whipped towards the left side, knocking several Goblyns over the side or into the rocks. Gabriel managed to jam a Goblyn underneath the wheel, who was kind enough to stop the wheel's spinning with his head.
As the other Goblyn's swarmed the ship, Crax and several of his commandos fired a harpoon into the side of the ship and quietly slid to a window on the side of the ship. Crax pushed the window open and his men one by one climbed inside. They were in the captain's cabin on the right side of the stern of the ship. Crax slowly drew out a medallion from his pocket as slowly ran his hand across the room. The medallion slowly went from silver to light gold and Crax walked underneath the bed until the medallion was glowing bright gold. " You men, watch the hall" said Crax.
The commandos slowly slipped into the hall and spread out.
Elanna slammed another Goblyn face first into the wall when her ears started twitching. She had heard something hit the side of the ship. Elanna started down the hall toward Sebastian's quarters. She rounded the corner and her ears twitched again. She spun around and was hit hard in the face with something heavy. Elanna slumped to the ground unconscious, two sneering Goblyns over her.
Crax lifted the board gently and took his knife out from his boot. He took a deep breath and cut the third trap wire. Crax lifted the burning gas bottle out of the secret space in the floor and placed it next to the small crossbow, and the large rat trap. Crax now was able to lift the trap door fully. He saw the box laying between several expensive bottles of liquor, and some golden cat statue. He carefully picked up the box, the medallion was almost white now. He grabbed the box and stowed it in his satchel. He carefully closed the lid and he accidentally brushed the small crossbow. He heard it go twang and it hit the bed above his head. He smirked, for the first time since it happened, he was happy that Dwarf bit half of that ear off in that bar fight. Crax pulled his whistle out, time to get the hell out of here.
The first Goblyn finished cutting all the strings holding Elanna's shirt together. The other Goblyn pulled the shirt off and took a long whiff, " Elves smells soooo goooooddd" he said, " we go so lucky."
The first Goblyn slowly began to unlace her bodice, " They are bigger" said the first as Elanna's breasts began to swell from her bodice.
" Elves have such big breasts" said the second, " maybe we should move to their forests?"
" You think Elven women would like us, I mean really look at us, we're short, green, you're nose looks like some tied a dead lizard to your face. And me, well, let's not start about my ears" said the first.
" They may go for the dangerous bad guys types" said the second, " name one elf that is more dangerous than either of us?"
The first opened her bodice, " Wow" said the first, "pure art."
The first lifted a necklace up, " Elvish artwork is so beautiful" he said.
" They aren't bad either, wish our women had them this firm and bouncy" said the second.
They both turned when they heard the whistle, " Come on" said the second, " last thing we want is to be around when she wakes up."
" First things first" said the first, lacing the bodice back up, " the shirt?"
" Fuck that" said the second, " she has more."
" True" said the first.
" You know how long Elf smell stays in a shirt?" asked the second.
" We'll find out" said the first.
Sebastian and Gabriel both turned when they heard dozens of whistle start blowing. The Goblyns started climbing back up their ropes, with Tanis climbing after them. " Tanis!" shouted Gabriel, " not this time."
Tanis looked back, looked up at the ship, looked back and shrugged, " You're right, it wouldn't be fair for them" he said.
Tanis hopped down and they watched as the Goblyn's left. " The statue" they both said.
The crew, with the exception of Sam who was piloting the ship, rushing down to Sebastian's quarters and found Elanna holding her head without her shirt on and Sebastian's secret stash opened. " Are you okay?" asked Gabriel.
" I still have my pants on" said Elanna, " good enough for me."
" They took it" said Sebastian, " they took the statue."
" Did they take ours?" asked Alexis.
" Nope, that ugly cat is still in there" said Sebastian, " but all the money, its gone."
" Unless we go back and take it" said Tanis, that gleam in his eye, " I remember those tunnels from the third Iron Forge War, we can get it back, might be a little dangerous."
" A little?" asked Audrey, " us eight against thousands of Goblyns?"
" It isn't as suicidal as it sounds" said Tanis.
" Ah isn't that the definition of a suicide mission?" asked Alexis.
" Not at all" said Tanis, " our stand on the High Bridge was a suicide mission, no those caves use to be a Dwarven iron mine. There is a hidden entry near the Snake River, it is where we use to smuggle women in from the surrounding villages to party when the foreman was away. It should lead us right to the heart of the mines themselves."
" I like the odds" said Gabriel, " Tanis, you can count me in."
" Me too" said Sebastian, " I want my statue."
" Me too" said Elanna, " they stole my shirt and probably stare at my breasts for too long with buying me a drink or at least flowers."
" Okay now that you put it that way" said Audrey.
" As long as we are breaking and entering and not trying to kick down the front door we're in too" said Alexis.
Suddenly a thud rocked the entire ship, " Now what?" asked Sebastian.
" Where is your cowardly brother?" asked Dirk standing on the deck ankle deep in Goblyn guts.
" Neither in bed with your mother or stealing your dead father's boots" said Sam, " look we just got attacked by Goblyns and I have an urge to hit you, so fuck off."
" Look" said Dirk, " he has our Red Fairy and we want it back."
" We don't have your Red Fairy" said Sebastian, " the Faeries do."
" How?" asked Dirk.
" They were at the crash first" said Sebastian, " if you want to get it back, I'll bet if you ask nicely."
" Bullshit" said Dirk, " I want it now."
" Look, we don't have it" said Sebastian, " but I am willing to compensate you, have you ever seen naked Elven breasts before?"
" No" said Dirk, " what your uppity doctor finally going to stop being a prude."
" Turn around" said Sebastian.
Dirk turned and Elanna punched him hard in the face, " That is for calling me a prude" she said.
Elanna grabbed him by the collar and hauled him over to the side of the ship, " And this is for thinking you could look at my breasts" she said.
Elanna hurled the portly Dirk onto the deck of his ship as Gabriel and Tanis cut the lines tying the two ships together.
The crew rushed to Dirk's side, " Should we go after them?" asked one of the crew.
" No" said Dirk, rubbing his jaw, " they ain't got our treasure, fuck that hurt."
Dirk watched the Esmeraldas' Triumph exit the Canyon of Teeth and start across the Toulo plain towards the Snake River valley. He would get back at Sebastian one of these days.
