PC SWOS EDITOR 1.40, released on 27th October, 1998.

WHAT IS PC SWOS EDITOR?

PC SWOS EDITOR is an easy to use editor that allows editing TEAM files from
SWOS game.
You can edit teams (kits, names, division...) and players (skills, price
, aspect...). The most interesting thing is that it can create an All Players
File, so you can easily find any player specificating search criteria.

INSTALLATION.

Installing the PC SWOS EDITOR is very easy, you have to extract the files
from PCSWOSFF.ZIP to the hard disk directory you want. Then the following
files must appear in your directory:

- SWOSFFF.EXE
- CW2RUN32.DLL
- CW2DOS32.DLL
- CW2TPS32.DLL
- README.TXT
- SWOS.HLP
- PRESENTA.WAV

For your convenience, you can create a new folder on the Start Menu using
the property option in the task bar (right click the taskbar and the menu
will appear).

REQUIREMENTS.

To run PC SWOS EDITOR you must have Windows 95 (or newer), and a VGA display
adapter set at 640 x 480 screen resolution (at least). I wrote this program
trying to make it very compatible, so I only used 16 colours (EGA standard
colours) in the program's icons, team uniforms, and so on... The problem is
that *orange* does not exist among this colours, then you will see an awful
pattern made by *yellow* and *red* to replace it.

UN-INSTALL

Just delete the menu you created for the program, and then delete the folder
in the Start Menu.

WHAT'S NEW IN THIS VERSION?

This Release (1.40)

I have added three new features:
  a) Original SWOS formulae to compute players' prices. It lets you compute
the prices for each player individually or for the whole team, using the
formula Sensible Software used to create all the original SWOS files.
  b) You can copy players to the multi-player clipboard, from the browser used
to search players matching a search criteria.
  c) When editing a team, you'll see marked in red the numbers of the players
that are to be substitutes, and in green the first eleven.

I have corrected these bugs:
  a) The Fixing Foreing Market does not allow now to update the players from a
team, unless that team is in Premier Division. It avoids SWOS to hang when
starting a new career with a team in an international competence.
  b) The file PORTAPAP.TPS is no longer created in the directory where you have
your teams, but it's created in PC SWOS EDITOR directory.

This Release (1.35)

I have added two new features:
  a) There's an option that allows you to FIX the FOREIGN MARKET, so SWOS will
not longer show a player, and then when you choose him show another one.
  b) You can edit TMD files (not only TEAM files), that are the ones used for
European Cup, Cup Winners Cup and UEFA Cup. You still cannot decide which
team qualifies, but that option will be available soon.
  c) I have corrected some mispelled country names.

Release 1.3

I have added two new features:
  a) It's not longer necessary to remember which file has the data of which country. Now to open a
TEAM file you have only to choose among the buttons reading at their labels.
  b) You can update one particular TEAM file in the All players file. So if a new update of one TEAM
file comes, you can update the players from that team, without having to read all the TEAM files
     again.

Release 1.25

I have corrected a bug and added a feature:
  a) In the previous version, the tactics couldn't be changed from 4-4-2. Now you can choose
     any tactics you like.
  b) I added a new column in the teams' browser window, where it shows the total points of each
     team in the file.

Release 1.2

I corrected these bugs:
  a) In the previous version, when cancelling the edition of a team, after changing its name or
coach, the browser showed the team as it was changed (not cancelled).
     Now it works ok.
  b) In the previous version when changing the name of a team, a Spanish title appeared in the
window bar. Now it displays the title in English ('Update team ...').
  c) In the previous version when closing the Players-Clipboard you couldn't open it again,
and you had to close the editor and reload it to see the clipboard.
Now you can open it, close it, open it, close it, open it...

Release 1.1

I corrected these bugs:
  a) Team name reduced to 16 chrs.
  b) Player name reduced to 22 chrs.
  c) There are no more 'Uniforms', they are called 'Kits'.
  d) When you are editing a team and you press the 'cancel' button, a confirmation
     is requested.

COMING SOON (?).

The editor will let you edit which clubs qualify for the European competitions
(eg. cup winners cup).

LICENSE INFORMATION

Well, this program is UPDATEWARE, it means that the only thing I want is you
to send the *updated* teams files by e-mail to me. So if you send me them, I
will try to add them to my page as soon as possible, then it's a good idea that
you send a README.TXT file (explaining what you did) together with your TEAM file.
(NOTE: Please use PKZIP or ARJ to compress the files)
