Author's Notes: Wow—One hundred fics from the perceptive of a cat—certainly makes life interesting.
My human carries me back to his room for the first time in days—I’m glad he put a bathroom in the big room—I might have embarrassed myself otherwise.
I run to my food dish—I expect something after living on the bits the small woman shared.
Instead, he starts talking to me, “I used to think red was a nice color—something to wear when one feels happy—now all I’m ever going to see is red splattered on the walls.”
I don’t understand what he he’s talking about, but it worries me. I rub up against his leg, trying to offer comfort. He picks me up and holds me tightly.
“They died because I wasn’t fast enough.”
I don’t like this—he’s never been like this before. I can feel the wet against my fur.
“Violet, make the red go away,” he murmurs to me quietly.
All I can do is nuzzle his nose. This is the first time in my life I wish I wasn’t a cat.
