 It's Madé, with an acutely accented E. Sounds like Mahday Jay.
And Madé, you should know, is an honorific on the island of Bali, denotingsecond-born. His full name is I Made Jay Robert.

This Blues Singer-Songwriter grew up in a musical family.
Father - Ketut Gedé Putrawan - and mother - Frances Mourant - both played guitar, the former widely considered to be the best player of Western-style music in Bali, specializing in Flamenco which he studied under the incomparable Paco Delucia, the latter playing classical guitar.
