So often in life, when things get so black

We feel alone as through all have turned their back.

No harbor that's safe from the oncoming storm

Or place we can go that's safe and warm.

Even in everyday trials and toils

We need just one friend who to us will be loyal,

To give us support and help get us through

Who'll know what to say and just what to do.

Rejoice in the fact we do have that friend

For Jesus is here by our side.

He understands our needs and wants to share

In the struggles that we have inside.

So don't go on struggling all by yourself

When Jesus has offered His hand

To give you the strength and support that you need

That through life with a friend you can stand.
