HE WILL COME NEAR TO YOU

The day was so stressful and people so rude

And things never seemed to go my way

There’s the job, the kids, and so little time

I could use a few more hours in my day.

Sickness and death and pain all around

No rest for the weary I guess,

Oh God it just seems you are so far away

I need you to give me some rest.

I call every day and yet you never hear

Where are you oh what should I do.

My child, be still and know that your God

Will always be here for you.

So I stopped and laid my burdens at your feet

And thought of all you’ve done,

The love you showed me every single day

Especially in sending your Son.

As I thought of your goodness, my cares flew away

And my heart smiled from inside.

Now I could feel and know you were here

With love right by my side.

So if you want to feel a real closeness to God

He’s already told you what to do.

Just come near to God and He said you will find

That He will come near to you.
