NOT BEING ABLE TO HELP

A close friend walked away today

She didn’t feel safe enough to stay

And I was the one, the one to blame

For bringing back her past of pain.

It hurt inside, for her I care

At the hole in my heart I could only stare

She took away the sunshine and the joy

Like Christmas had been taken from a little boy

I couldn’t stop her, I didn’t try

Because I knew the reason why

I’m left to pray, to ask the Father above

To heal her hurt, to wrap her in His love

Give her strength to conqueror her painful past

Help her vanquish her demons and darkness at last.
