SUPERMAN!

Wouldn't it be nice to be superman

To win against evil as I take my stand

Taking away the nightmares of people in pain

And fill the world with smiles once again.

Dreaming is fun, but in the real world

I have no big S, or a cape to unfurl

I'm just a man, so what can I do

To fight against evil and do good too.

I can start with a smile and just a kind word

So little, you say, it sounds quite absurd.

Then add a helping hand and a listening ear

A visit would be nice, just having you here.

A hug, some laughter, and encouragement too

Wouldn't that help if this person was you?

Balloons or cookies or a shoulder to cry on

 Maybe cleaning their house or mowing their lawn.

Or a push with something they keep putting off

Or in dealing with things in which they're too soft

Perhaps with a past that's to painful to face

Through trust you can give them a much safer place.

I don't have to be Superman to turn a frown to a smile

Just be willing to help and go the extra mile.

Just look around and see the good you can do

Then you'll be flying and feeling like Superman, too.
