THIS PAIN INSIDE

I want to scream, I want to cry
Its always there, the pain inside.
Is there no help, can no one see
My world has fallen in on me.
The prison walls are closing in
The light of hope is growing dim.
My spirit’s weak, my body torn
I feel so helpless within this storm.
I try to smile, I try to fight
Or help in someone else’s plight
To pretend I’m in some other place
By putting a smile on another’s face.
I haven’t given up, but still seek a way
To ease my pain and enjoy a new day
So I put it in the Father’s hand
That side by side with Him I can stand.
