Tapley/Tarply Maddox
c.1769 ~ aft.1826
I do not know if Tapley was George Maddox's son.  George Jr. did name a son Tapley b. 1821 in Fleming Co., KY.

On November 8, 1798, Tapley Maddox (George Sr's possible son) obtained a Kentucky Land Grant of 200 acres in Green County along the Skeggs Beaver Creek.  [Source:  Kentucky Land Grants Book 29, pg. 200]

In 1799, a James Tapley died in Fleming Co., KY.  "The Last Will & Testament of James Tapley Dec'd was produced in Court and proved by the Oaths of Geo. Stockton & Joshua Barnes witnesses thereto and ordered to be Certifyed.  Sworn to by William Dudley Ex'or therein named.

In 1801, he was on the tax list of Mason Co., KY, next to Lewis and Fleming Co., KY, with one white male over 21 and one horse.  He was also on the 1802 and 1803 tax list with unchanged information.

On June 6, 1826, Tapley Maddox married in Adams Co., OH.

There was a Tapley Maddox close to George's Tapley's age inShelby Co., KY, but his father was apparently Nelson Maddox.  There was one other Tapley Maddox in Stewart Co., TN, about the age of George's older children, who married 1805 and d. in 1815 in TN.  They may have been distantly related.
