Reviews - The Mirror
The first classic single of the year from the excellent Outer Marker album. Camden's Jack Allsopp is like the streets with a deeper musical foundation and more thoughtful lyrics. This rap is a irresistable mix of a frustrated anger and world weary longing that grooves on a palpitating dub backing. A terrific record.

Er,
awesome! Like Eminem. Except cockney. Which means it's like The Streets. Only
better. Or worse. Who can tell? The radical shock of hearing English accented
hip-hop that doesn't totally suck is still so mindblowing that the critical
organs are paralysed. Welcome, Just Jack. You rule! But where the hell have you
been? Look, us Brits always nice Americam music, do it better and then sell it
back to them. It's traditional. It's what makes us British. So how come it's
taken so long wiht rap? Eh?
