About that drug thing...
Adam's condition is known all throughout hospitals in Newcastle, and he has become a spokesperson for hospitals, telling children which life long conditions that they can still achieve their goals. Adam is a man who had his life turned upside down when he was just 20 years old, and who moved past that to become an established representative player at both state and national levels. In my opinion it is unfortunate that he should have to put up with opposition fans attacking his private life just because they can't find anything wrong with his on-field performances. He does put up with it though, and it seems to have just become part of the background noise of his career.

Whilst playing for the Roosters in 1995, Adam was on the receiving end of a very nasty head high tackle which saw him hospitalised for 16 weeks. Unfortunately, since that tackle he has needed medication to lead a normal life. The drug he has to take is on the ASDA's banned substances list, however like diabetics who need insulin, Adam has been cleared to take the medication providing that his dosage and condition are monitored. This has led people to believe that he has an unfair advantage, however professionals have stated in no uncertain terms, that without his condition, Adam would be twice the player he is today (scarey thought isn't it?!).
