TEARS
"Tears"- No fader movement again. A typical tear is when you play the sample forward, then when dragging it back to the start of the sample (like a baby skratch) you split the backwards motion into two parts. Normally this is in two equal sections with the the first section fast and the second section slow (hence making the total backward time roughly the same as the forward time). This splits the sound on the backwards motion creating a tiny pause inbetween.

So....forward.....1/2 backwards fast......remaining 1/2 backwards slow.

There are variations within tears, you can split the forward motion up and keep the backward motion normal (reverse tears) or split it up into threes etc. etc. as with most things in skratching there are no set rules just experiment until you get a sound you like.
