| "Echoes / Fades"- This is a technique performed with the upfaders (Note if you have an adjustable upfader curve it's easiest on the setting which gives a gradual curve). A typical echoe is basically a series of forward skratches but you drop the volume of the skratch on each forward. So if you have your upfader at maximum (and your crossfader on), then you play the sample forward, drop your upfader to 0, then rewind and play the forward again but at a slightly lower volume, then repeat in as many steps as you want back down to 0. So you get a series of progressively quieter forwards (hence an echoe effect). |
