The "Coffee with a Cop" program will be changing its hours for July and August. The new hours will be 9:00am at Evelyn Bay Coffee shop. Please come and speak with an ERPD officer about any concerns that you might have. If you don't have any concerns please come for a chat.
ERPD is actively enforcing parking regulations. On street parking is prohibited between 2:00am and 5:00am. There is no parking on Hamlin St. adjacent to the Evelyn Bay coffee shop. Down town parking on Main St. is limited to 2 hours. There is no parking in any zone that is either marked NO Parking by signage or is adjacent to a yellow zone as painted on the curb.
The traffic signal enforcement program is underway. Officers will be monitoring our signalled intersections looking for traffic violations.They will be paying particular attention to those of you that fail to stop at red lights or speed up to get through those amber lights. Failing to stop at traffic signalled intersections is second to only speeding in being responsible for accidents. Please stop for those signals.
With summer upon us I need to remind everyone to lock those vehicles and take the keys. We experience an increase in our larcen from automobile complaints during the summer. This is attributable to the increased foot traffic and the fact that people leave valuables in plain sight on the seats of their unlocked cars. Please lock it and pocket it.
We have received numerous complaints from our business community on speeding bicyclists and skateboarders. Please be considerate of our pedestrian traffic and advise your children to do so.
