Chapter 39
When Howie's bus finally reached it's destination and pulled into the deserted car park of the next arena they were due to play, three familiar faces were waiting expectantly. The doors opened and Jack the driver got off of the bus, smiling at the three Backstreet Boys before wondering off to get himself a coffee and something to eat.
The three waited impatiently for the other two to appear, but minutes passed and there was no sign of them. They looked at each other, unsure what to do.
"Do you think they killed each other?" Nick asked the others, only half kidding.
"Maybe." Kevin replied.
"Should we check?" Nick asked Brian.
Brian didn't answer, but stood staring at the doors, as if willing the pair to emerge so they could find out one way or the other.
Suddenly, almost as if responding to his silent summons, the doors swung open and Howie strode off the bus, sweeping past the other three without even acknowledging them.
"Oh Fuck." Brian breathed. Things didn't look good.
Seconds later AJ breezed past them, ignoring them as well. The three stood there dumbfounded as they watched the pair disappear into the arena.
Brian made a move to go after them, but Kevin put a hand on his shoulder to stop him.
"I don't think you're flavour of the month at the moment. Better let us handle this."
"No way." Brian replied. His jaw set defiantly.
"I made this mess, so I'm going to fix it." He told them, before turning and heading after the pair.
"Think he's in for it now?" Nick asked Kevin. As he stared at his best friend's retreating back.
"Oh yeah." Kevin replied.
"Poor Brian."
"Yeah."
"Shall we go watch?" Nick grinned.
"Most definitely." Kevin grinned back, and the pair set off after the others to watch the fireworks.
