Chapter 35
Jonesy entered the room first, followed closely by Howie, who shut the door behind him. Jonesy smiled at the men in the room, before walking over to Brian.
"Hey, How's my favourite patient?" He asked, before checking Brian's vitals.
"Worried." Brian replied. "How is he?" He asked, needing to know more than ever. He had an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach, one that wouldn't go away.
"Let me finish checking you out first, and then we'll get to your friend. Okay?" Jonesy told him, as he fiddled with the IV bag.
Jonesy quietly explained to Brian what had happened to him, and how long he had been out for, before explaining to all of them what he was checking, and why.
All four of them listened to the doctor, but they were only half paying attention to what he was actually saying. None of them realised it, but they each had a strange feeling, although they had no idea whether it was because of Jonsey's face when he entered the room, or something else.
Finally, Jonesy finished his check-up, and pronounced that Brian was progressing nicely and he was happy with his recovery. With nothing else to do, he sat on the bed, not relishing having to tell these four friends the next bit of news.
"How's Alex?" Brian asked again, as the uneasy feeling grew inside him. Jonesy looked at the expectant faces before beginning.
