A New Day

Chapter 14

AJ pulled back, a confused look on his face, which made Howie smile.

"Dinner's ready. C'mon, let's go eat."

AJ followed Howie into the dining room, smiling at the intimate setting Howie had created with the low lighting and candles dotted about the room. Howie told him to sit before heading into the kitchen to turn off the oven.

"You want me to do anything?" AJ called to him.

"No. I've got it." Howie replied, opening the oven. "Unless you want to get the drinks?"

AJ spotted the wine in the cooler and walked over to it. He spotted his favourite non-alcoholic brand, and smiled as he took it out and opened it. He was just pouring out the glasses when Howie entered with a covered dish.

Howie set it carefully down on the table, before taking off the lid with a flourish. The beautiful aroma wafted into AJ's nostrils, and he felt his mouth begin to water.

"God that smells good." He told Howie.

Howie grinned, a faint blush colouring his cheeks at the compliment.

"I'm glad you like it."

"Especially if it is one of Mama D's recipes." AJ grinned widely, as he sat back down.

Howie nodded and grabbed the plates to serve. "Of course it is. I know you love her cooking almost as much as I do."

The two sat down to eat, the conversation light and enjoyable. The two were simply content to enjoy each other's company, letting the sexual tension stay in the background. As they finished eating AJ told him about his little chat with Kevin, and Howie frowned when he heard about Kristen leaving.

"That sucks."

AJ laughed. "Y'know, that's exactly what I said." He grinned, and Howie laughed as well.

"I think I've spent entirely too much time around you. I think you're rubbing off on me."

"I'm not rubbing off on you." AJ replied, before grinning wickedly. "At least, not yet. Let's save that for later- okay?"

Howie groaned at the joke, rolling his eyes as he collected the dishes and took them into the kitchen.

"Sometimes you can be so crass."

AJ followed him with the rest of the washing up, and watched as Howie bent over to open the dishwasher.

"But you love me anyway." AJ singsonged.

"I know. Although when you are like this, I sometimes wonder why."

AJ grinned, knowing from Howie's tone that he was only joking. The second Howie started the dishwasher, and immediately found himself pressed tightly up against it, AJ pressed into his back.

"So... what's for desert?" AJ asked, rubbing his quickly hardening erection against Howie's ass.

Howie groaned. "You'll have to wait and see." He replied, slipping out of the embrace.

AJ caught himself before he slammed into the counter, and turned around as Howie disappeared into the lounge. AJ followed.
