A Little Relief
Later that night, a dark figure slipped out of one of the bedrooms and along the hallway, before stopping outside another door and tapping softly. The door opened and the figure slipped inside.
AJ closed the door behind him and turned to face Howie, who immediately pulled him into a deep kiss. When they finally broke for air, AJ nuzzled his face into Howie's neck as Howie led him back towards the bed.
"God. I've been wanting to do that all day." AJ moaned, as he allowed Howie to push him down onto the soft mattress.
"Mmmmm. Me too." Howie told him, as he climbed on top of his lover, straddling his waist.
Howie rained kisses down onto AJ's face as the two were finally able to express their love for each other physically. AJ ran his hands up and down Howie's bare chest, watching the play of muscles under the skin as Howie moved. They both knew that they could not take this too far, as the others were nearby, and they couldn't risk Kevin or Brian finding out about them like that, so they were forced to content themselves with merely being able to hold each other near and whisper their words of love.
After some time, Howie noticed that AJ's mind was somewhere else, and he moved his head closer to AJ and blew softly in his ear.
"Hey. What was that for?" AJ asked.
"Where were you?"
"Hmmm. Oh. Thinking."
"Yeah. What about?"
"Nick."
"Should I be jealous?" he asked.
"Wha? Oh. No. Not like that. God do you ever think of anything else?" AJ asked, raising his eyebrows.
"No." Howie grinned as he nipped at AJ's shoulder. AJ grinned back and smothered a moan as Howie continued to nip and suck at him.
"I was thinking about what he said earlier. About us... y'know."
Howie stopped what he was doing and lifted his head up, leaning his head on his arm and looking down at his lover.
"Why. You interested?" He made the comment sound teasing, but in truth he was very interested in the answer.
"It's not that I'm interested." AJ began. He lapsed into silence for a moment, gathering his words. Howie watched him silently, knowing that AJ would be honest in his answer.
"It's just... Well. When Nick told us his idea, I was like 'Woah where the hell did that come from' I mean, they're hot an' all, but I don't walk around all day thinking about it or anything. 'Specially since I got the hottest one right here." He stopped and looked at Howie, who had a smile on his face. Encouraged AJ continued.
"But y'know. Since then, I can't help but wonder why he would even think of such an idea. I mean, I know he swings both ways, but I wasn't expecting him to come out with that. The weird thing is, I don't think he even considered sexuality as a factor in the first place, or else he would never of thought it possible, not knowing Brian and Kevin were straight."
Howie nodded in agreement. "I know. I got the sense that was the case as well. I don't know how he thought of it either."
"That's what makes the whole thing... I don't know... plausible."
Howie arched an eyebrow in shock at AJ's choice of words. AJ saw this and hurriedly continued.
"I dunno. I mean, at first I thought. 'What the hell- No way.' But then, thinking about it this evening, I have been trying to find another way to approach this, a different way to help Rok get over this..." He shook his head in frustration.
"But you can't." Howie finished for him. AJ looked at him and shook his head.
"I know what you mean babe. I've been thinking the exact same thing. Nick knows Brian better than any of us and something is telling him that this will work, even though it sounds crazy and improbable. I spent ages trying to think of something else, and I can't either. All I kept coming back to was the feeling that we should trust Nick's intuition."
"Except we can't because of Kevin." AJ told him, frustration evident in his voice. "So the idea's dead before we even begin."
Howie merely smirked. "Who said Kevin had to be involved?"
Howie almost laughed out loud as he saw the recognition in AJ's face as he finally figured out where Howie was going with this.
"You cheeky little..." He told him. "You had this planned." Howie smiled at him and AJ grinned back. A thought suddenly hit him. "Does Nick know?" He asked.
"No. I wanted to check with you first. I love you and I trust you with everything I am, and I know you feel the same. We are secure enough in our relationship for this not to cause a problem- I know that. But I would never do this without knowing that you were okay with it too."
AJ reached over and pulled Howie closer, dropping a soft kiss on his lips.
"I love you Howie." He whispered. "And I love that you care about me enough to check with me first. You're right. If we do this it wouldn't hurt our relationship. Our love is too strong- and we just won't let it. If there was another way, then we would do it. But there isn't- so we're left with no choice but to try this."
Howie smirked at AJ "Oh yeah- it's gonna be such a hardship to do this." He said, his voice thick with sarcasm.
"Oh yeah." AJ replied, deadpan. "The things we do for our friends."
Both of them broke out into a fit of giggles as the settled down in each other's arms, deciding to get as much rest as they could- tomorrow was going to be a busy day.
