Chapter 29
AJ confesses his feelings

AJ relaxed in his room, exhausted from the days lessons, Stormwind had pushed him hard, attacking him from all angles, with different attacks and sometimes a combination of attacks. Try as he might he couldn't sleep, the conversation with Silence replaying over and over in his head. "I know Kevin" he said to himself. "He's straight as an arrow. He'd never want me like that" he sighed. He closed his eyes and willed sleep to come. A candle mark or so later, he decided that his will must not be strong enough because sleep had yet to take him. "Why the fuck can't I stop thinking about him?" he cried in frustration.
'Alexander, what is wrong?' Silver's calming mindvoice entered his thoughts.
'Nothing Silver, I just can't sleep' AJ reassured him.
'Alex, you cannot lie to me, so come out and talk to me about what's troubling you' Silver told him sternly.
AJ knew if he didn't go to talk to Silver, Silver would not let him sleep and would probably fly up to his window and bug him. 'Alright, I'm coming.'
Once he'd made his way to the gryphon's home on the far edge of the woods he sat down in front of his companion "Ok, I'm here."
"Tell me what isss botherrring you my choosssen, and do not lie to me" Silver told him, lying down so his head was nearly level with AJ's. "I know sssomething hasss been botherrring yourrr hearrrt, it is weighing down yourrr sssoul" he said softly.
AJ sighed "Silver, I've never been one to beat around the bush. I can't stop thinking about Kevin. It's driving me crazy. All I think about when I'm not doing my lessons is how much I care about him. It's like...I don't know" he stated, getting up and beginning to pace in front of the gryphon. "I notice everything about him now, and not like I use to."
"How ssso" Silver encouraged him to go on. 'Finally, I'm getting him to come out with it' he thought to himself.
AJ took a deep breath "Well, I always thought Kevin had amazing eyes, I mean, that shade of green, it's beautiful. But now I look at his eyes, his beautiful, gorgeous sparkling green eyes and they take my breath away, and when he smiles, his eyes light up, they smile too."
"And" Silver asked grinning.
"And his hair, I mean I would kill for his hair, all dark and silky and luscious. I just want to run my fingers though it's massive waves. I remember its texture, so soft and smooth. He is a raven haired god. His body, tall and lean, broad shoulders and chest, god a beautiful chest, and that stomach, washboard abs. I just wanna run my hands down his gorgeous chest" AJ sighed sitting down in front of Silver with a sigh. "He is like fucking perfection. The most amazing smile, it lights up a room, and his voice, I mean it's like the highest choir of angels in the heavens above" AJ told him, lying down and looking up through the trees at the stars beginning to shine in the night sky.
"You know how you feel, what hasss got you ssso trrroubled?" Silver asked.
"Kevin is straight, he isn't shay 'a' chern, he would never look at me that way" AJ replied.
"Arrre you certain?" Silver inquired.
"Almost positive, and besides, lets just say for the heck of it, Kevin does occasionally have a shaych relationship, it wouldn't matter, he'd never look at me that way, and besides, he has Jakara here" AJ told him sadly.
"He isss in a rrrelationssship with Jakarrra?" Silver asked curiously "That isss newsss to me, have they told you thisss?"
"No, but they don't have too, just look at the way they act around each other, its obvious" AJ replied bitterly.
"Alexanderrr, Jakarrra and Kevin arrre nothing morrre than frrriendsss, I know thisss forrr a fact. I alssso think that if you got overrr yourrr insssecurrritiesss and told Kevin how you felt, you would be sssurrrprisssed. Even if he doesss not rrreturrrn your feelingsss, at leassst you would have the clossserrr to move on" Silver advised him softly 'Not that there is any reason for Kevin not to return your feelings' he added to himself.
"I can't tell him, I know he doesn't feel that way for me" AJ told him stubbornly.
"And by ignorrring him becaussse of yourrr feelingsss, you are hurrrting him asss well asss yourrrssself, do you rrreally want to continue hurrrting him?"
AJ shook his head "No, hurting him is the last thing I'd ever want to do to him. I love him too much" AJ said softly, shocking himself by the revelation.
"Tell him Alex" Silver told him once more.
"Ok, I'll tell him" AJ said with a face splitting yawn.
"It'sss a beautiful night Alexanderrr, ssstay herrre with me tonight choosssen" Silver told him, standing up to stretch and shake his wings out. "Come herrre" he said, opening a wing and allowing AJ to lean up against his furry body, fully relaxing against the warm body of his companion.
"Good night Silver, and thank you" he said sleepily as he burrowed back against Silver's body, being partially covered by his folded wing.
"Good night, brrrotherrr of my sssoul" Silver said tucking his head under his opposite wing, allowing sleep to over come him as well.
Neither one was away of the shadow behind one of the trees, having listened to their entire conversation. "I can't let him tell Kevin he loves him, it will ruin everything. He mustn't tell him" the shadow whispered as it ghosted through the trees back towards the palace.
