Traitor

King Feshar looked down at the woman bowing in his presence "What are you doing here? You know how dangerous it is for you to come to me!" he shouted.
"Forgive me father, but it is of most importance" she said softly.
"Rise daughter, this had better be of importance" he said bitterly.
"I had...a dream father. Of the past" she said quickly.
"So?"
"There was a legend in the dream. Of five strangers who will deliver Valhala from peril. I believe these strangers I've been telling you about are they" she answered.
"How can these strangers be them? They are not even of this world" Feshar asked.
"No, but I did some research this morning. I studied the chronicles of the past. They speak of a young prince, heir to the throne who disappeared without a trace one morn with 4 of his closest friends. He was a firestarter" she said softly.
Feshar looked curious "Go on."
"He disappeared with his friends, one was a strong mage, one was a healer, one was a farseer and a master of foresight, the last and youngest was a mindspeaker of unheard of power. They disappeared into a portal and were never heard from again."
"I still do not see the point you are making."
"Father, in my dream of the past, they went into this portal that was supposed to take them south of Valhala, but the time fabric of the portal ripped and it threw them into another dimension."
"Feshar's eyes got wide "So you are saying..."
His daughter nodded "Yes, these 5 strangers are the descendants of the 5 Valhalian's that went missing all those years ago. Kevin possesses a firestarting ability that I am sure will surpass Jakara's in strength, Alex's mage abilities as far as I can tell are unheard of, Howard's healing abilities are amazing, Brian's control over his mind is such that he might actually be able to control his foresight ability at will, and Nick's mindspeech abilities can penetrate a companion's shield, that has never happened in the entire history, of the entire history."
"NO! This will ruin everything" Feshar yelled.
"Father I have an idea" she said quietly. She did not want to do this, but the fear and loyalty to his father forced her to.
"Yes my child."
"Stormwind, the mage, he...he pointed out something to me. Alex, he is lifebonded...to Kevin, just like their ancestors. Suppose I...I find a way to drive a wedge between them. Then when you strike at Valhala, you will have the advantage. They will not be working together" she said looking away from him.
Feshar looked at her thoughtfully fro a moment "Destra, my darling daughter, you are brilliant. That is excellent" he faced then darkened "But it might not be enough. What of the one you teach?"
Her eyes widened "What...what about him?"
"Lead him on, give him affection. You are an attractive girl; he'd be a fool not to fall for you. Get him to trust you. Then when we strike, he will not suspect you to be his undoing" he said coldly.
"But...father...won't the wedge be enough?" she asked.
"It very well might be, but I don't want to take any chances. Do you understand me?"
She looked down "yes father" she said in almost a whisper.
"Good. You should get back before things get suspicious. Don't fail me Destra" he said flatly.

"How was your lesson today?" Nick asked Brian, meeting him in the eating hall for midday.
"I didn't have one this morning. Kida said she needed to go see her family this morning. Her mother sent word that her brother's wife had their first child" Brian replied. "What about yours?"
"That's nice. I didn't have any this morning either. Silence told me she had another errand to run today. She wasn't going to turn me over to Stormwind because he and Alex are working on energy bolts, and knowing my big mouth Alex would probably bean me with an energy bolt" Nick said laughing.
"Speaking of Alex, want to know something weird that happened this morning?" Brian asked.
"Of course"
"I was talking with him before his lesson and we saw Kevin and Jakara walking towards the courtyard. She said something and Kevin put his arm around her and hugged her and AJ just sort of stopped talking and stared a for a minute. He then frowned and said 'bye' quickly and just left. What's up with that?"
Nick frowned, first AJ gets all pissed off at him for teasing him about liking them tall, dark and handsome, like Kevin. Then when AJ saved Kevin and got knocked out and came to he saw Kevin holding Jakara and got this pissed off look on his face and he'd swear AJ's eyes had a green tint to them. And now AJ sees Kevin and Jakara hug and turns and walks away from them. He had an idea but wasn't going to discuss it with Brian yet, he needed to talk to Stormwind "I don't know Brian, its AJ, who knows with him, maybe he's got a crush on Jakara" he said with a laugh. Or Kevin he thought instead.
