Chapter 8
Brian and Mythos

With the others lounging around the field by the fence Brian decided to take a walk through the field and see the other horses and Aketa. He walked up to one of the horses "Aketa?"
'Neigh laddie, I'm Mythos. Aketa is over by the south fence.'
"Oh, I'm sorry then Mythos. I was just walking around looking for company" Brian said rubbing the stallions flank lightly.
'Since I am looking for the same, companionship, would you mind if I accompanied you to Lady Aketa' Mythos asked stamping a hoof lightly.
"Of course not, if you wish to accompany me you are more than welcome to" Brian said smiling.
'Thank you, so you're companionless are you?'
"Yes, I've just arrived in Valkara, Valhala actually with some of my friends" Brian replied walking with Mythos towards Aketa.
Mythos stopped a little ways off from Aketa and looked Brian straight in the eye, as if he was looking for something. Brian felt something inside him jump, as if reaching out to something or someone and realized it was Mythos. Mythos whinnied a bit and called to him 'its is you, you are my chosen one. You have answered the call that only ones chosen can hear. You and I will be forever bonded brother of my soul.'
Brian smiled softly "Mythos" he said and hopped up on his back "Come on lets go see Aketa" he said into Mythos' ear.
'Gladly' he said trotting off towards the mare. 'Greetings lady fair, how art thee this afternoon? Have you met my chosen?' he asked stopping in front of her.
Aketa turned around slowly 'Greetings good sir, I am well today' she paused when she noticed Brian upon Mythos's back 'Brian, I am glad you bonded with Mythos. When I first met you I thought you'd be a good partner for him. Jakara will be pleased' she said whickering softly.
"Thank you Aketa" Brian said with a smile "I'm glad I've bonded with a horse, and Mythos is so beautiful."
'Handsome if you don't mind. Aketa is beautiful cause she is a mare, I'm handsome because I'm a stallion'
'Thank you Mythos darling' Aketa said nuzzling him briefly.
"Come on Myth, lets go back to the others so I can show them how handsome you are" he said with a laugh.
AJ was looking around for Brian when he saw a gorgeous companion riding up to them. After a minutes time he recognized Brian astride him. "Dude, Brian is riding a horse" he said hopping up.
The others lazily got themselves into standing positions when Brian halted in front of them "Hey guys this is Mythos, my companion" Brian said getting down and leaning against him.
"Awesome Bri, he is gorgeous" Nick said rubbing his nose.
'I'm handsome' Mythos said stubbornly.
'Ok, you are handsome. Are you happy now?' Nick replied.
'Yes'
"No fair you got your companion first" AJ said fake pouting.
"He's a handsome stallion Brian; I'm gonna go see the birds. Anyone joining?" Howie asked.
"I'll come with you, Aketa said the firecats are over that way" Kevin said walking over to rub Mythos' right flank before joining Howie on the path to the birds and cats.
"What do you think about Rok and Mythos?" Howie asked.
"It's neat. Brian seems suited for the horses" Kevin said shrugging.
"Yeah, well here is the turn off so I'll see you in a bit Kevy" Howie said turning towards the aviary.
