Big Things Come In Small Packages.

Part Seven

While Howie was giving Alexanderia a bath, AJ decided he should call his mom. The phone rang three times before someone answered it. "Hello" "Hey mom" "Hey sweetie, how are you and Howard doing?" "We're fine, how are you doing?" "I fine, I'm glad I heard from you. I haven't talked to you in a couple of days and I was wondering how things were going." "Sorry about that mom, we've been kind of busy for the past couple of days." "Oh, I understand completely." "The reason why I called was because D and I was wondering if you could come over around noon?" "Yeah sure, why?" "Well me and D have something to tell you." "Okay sweetie, I just hope that I can wait that long." They both laughed. Howie came downstairs with Alexanderia wrapped in a towel. "Listen mom, I have to go but I'll see you later today, okay?" "Yeah sure, honey talk to you later." AJ hung up the phone and turned to Howie.

"It's your turn to dress her I got to call my parents. Can your mom make it?" "Yeah and now she's wondering what we have to tell her." Howie laughed "Well wait until I call my mom. They probably call each other trying to find out the reason." "Yeah your right, well you know where I'll be if you need me." Howie passed Alexanderia to AJ and they headed upstairs.

Howie dialed his parents' number and his mother answer the phone. "Hey mom, how is everything?" "Fine, now that I hear your voice. How is everything with you and Alex?" "Great mom, we were wondering if you and Dad could come over around 12?" "Let me check but I think we can." Howie's mom went to go check with his Dad. Two seconds later she got back on the phone "Yeah we can make it. What do you guys have to tell us?" "Mom, I rather not say over the phone that's why we asked you over." "Sure honey, I understand." "Listen mom, I have to go but I'll see you at 12." "Okay then honey, bye" "bye."

AJ came downstairs with Alexanderia. "So are your parents coming?" "Yep" "Then everyone will know by the end of today. Are you ready to go?" "Yeah, let's go." Howie helped Alexanderia in her car seat and AJ got in the driver's side. "So I'm going to the grocery store to get the supplies that I need for lunch" said AJ. "And while your doing that me and Alexanderia are going to get another car seat and pick up some toys." "Why do we need another car seat?" "Because as much as I love you. I like to drive my own car and I would like my daughter to come with me. It would be a whole lot easier if we had two car seats that way we don't have to keep moving the seat from car to car." AJ nodded his head in agreement.

"How long do you think that you'll be?" asked Howie. "At max. half an hour." "So we will meet you back at the car in 30 minutes. Alexanderia wave by to Daddy." Alexanderia did just that.

Howie let Alexanderia pick out her toys. He didn't know what little girls should play with and he read some where that little girls should have both boys and girls toys. Alexanderia pick a Barbie and Howie put Barbie's family and friends and their friends and family. in the cart as well. Alexanderia looked at Howie. "Well we can't have Barbie be lonely." He also put in Barbie's dream house and a smaller version of Barbie's house. Then Alexanderia put a train set and a racecar set in the cart and that's all she wanted. "Are you sure you don't want anything else?" asked a very confused Howie. Because if it were any other kid there would be a lot more toys that they would have pick out. Alexanderia nodded her head. They went to the cashiers desk so they could pay for it.

While AJ was in the grocery store he was trying to figure out whether or not they should eat before they told them. He thought no because no one would eat because they would be too busy wondering what was going on. The best thing would be to tell them when they came in. He sighs and pushed the cart to the next aisle.

It took them a total of six trips to bring everything inside. "D, why did you buy Barbie two houses?" "Because she can't take the Dream house with her on tour." AJ shook his head "And the guys talk about me." "You know you're just jealous that I thought about it and you didn't?" "Sure whatever you say" "Shouldn't you get started on lunch the 'rents will be here soon." "Don't remind me" "I have to or else we wouldn't eat." "Yeah, yeah I'm going." AJ went to the kitchen to start lunch while Howie and Alexanderia were putting her toys together.

The doorbell rang and AJ went to answer it, it was Howie's parents. "Alex, how are you dear? Where is my son?" said Howie's mom. "I'm fine thanks for asking, Howie's upstairs let me go get him. By all means come in and sit down. Would you like anything to drink?" "No thank you?" Howie's Dad said. "Could I have a glass of water?" AJ went in the kitchen and two seconds later came out with a glass of water for Howie's mom. "I'm just going to go upstairs and get Howie." AJ ran upstairs "D, your parents are downstairs." "Okay, but what are we going to do about Alexanderia?" AJ turned to Alexanderia "Alexanderia honey, can you stay here and play for a couple of minutes while we go downstairs?" Alexanderia nodded her head. "Are you sure?" asked Howie. She nodded her head again. Howie and AJ went downstairs.

"Mom, Dad, how are you?" said Howie while hugging his parents. "We're fine son, how are you?" asked Howie's Dad. "I'm fine Dad." "If you would excuse me, I have to go back in the kitchen to check on lunch." AJ left the room to go to the kitchen. There was an accute silence. The sound of the doorbell broke the silence. "I'll get J" Howie got up to answer the door and it was AJ's mom at the door. "Howard, how are you? And where is that son of mine?" "I'm fine, how are you? He's in the kitchen. Come on in, my parents are here as well." AJ's mom followed Howie into the living room. "Hey Denise" said Howie's parents. "Hey Hoke and Paula" they three of them began to talk. "I'm going to see if AJ needs any help."

Once he was in the kitchen "Well they are all here. Its now or never" said Howie. "Yeah, why don't you get Alexanderia and I'll start warming them up." Howie looked at AJ "You know they are not a studio audience" "I know, I know. Now go." They both left the kitchen. Howie going straight upstairs and AJ heading to the living room. "Mom, how are you?" said AJ while hugging his mother. "I'm fine." "I'm glad to hear that." AJ saw Howie on the top of the stairs. "Okay, you'll probably wondering why me and D wanted you to come over on such short notice. Its because we have something to tell you." AJ motion for Howie to come in the room. "I would like to introduce our daughter Alexanderia." The three parents had their mouths open. AJ's mom began to blink faster than normal. Howie's mom had to sit down. "Did I hear you right Alex, that this is your guys daughter?" asked Howie's Dad. "Yeah you did Dad," said Howie. "How, who, when, what?" said AJ's mom. "We'll answer all those questions after lunch," said Howie. Let's eat," said AJ.

Howie and AJ took Alexanderia's hand and they led everyone to the dinning room. The parents didn't know what to say all they could do was follow their sons and their new granddaughter.
