| 10. L. Coles SF - Tied for third in receiving yards with 577, he has proven to be Brady's #1 target. After moving from team to team last year, he seems to have found a home in San Fran with QB Tom Brady. 9. C. Pennington CHI - When the Dolphins traded him away earlier this season with a rating around 60 and low amount of passing yards, they never thought he would end up in the top three in passing in the NFC. He has a QB rating of 80.2 while throwing for 1336 yards, although the Bears can't seem to win. 8. S. McNair MIA - Acquring him in a trade with Houston a few weeks into the season, Miami never thought that his numbers would be this great, leading the league in passer rating (105.2) and AFC in yards (1435). He has been the key figure to Miami's success 7. J. Plummer ATL - Quite an improvement from last year, Plummer has proven he can compete with the elite QB's of this league. He still needs to cut down on his interceptions, but he has led the Falcons to a respectable 4-3 record. 6. Jacksonville Jaguars - With no real superstars on their team, veterans such as McCaffrey, Collins and a newly acquired young RB in Buckhalter have helped the Jags to their 4-2 record, good enough to tie them for second in a very tough AFC South. 5. San Diego Chargers - Undefeated until week 6, now 6-1, the Chargers are trying to prove the theory that defense wins championships. They remind me of the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens a few years back. They have a mediocre offense with no real stars besides veteran Shannon Sharpe, with arguably the best defense in the league. Look for them to continue winning as long as their offense steps it up. 4. Carolina Panthers - After switching coaches in the offseason, it appears the new coach has done nothing but make the right moves for his team. Acquiring Couch, James, and Holt has solidified their offense and made them a favorite to win the NFC South. 3. Mushin Muhammad MIA - WHO? Mushin WHO? Maybe its just something to do with Miami receivers leading the league in receiving, as Boston was traded away in another deal, Mushin was acquired in a deal bringing Urlacher to Miami. Who would have thought that he would have the bigger impact on the team. 2. Trent Dilfer SD - Playing for a San Diego team that greatly reminds him of his Super Bowl year and still throwing to his favorite target in Shannon Sharpe, Dilfer has proven that ratings/attributes mean nothing. He has a QB rating of 104.2, throwing for 1035 yds with an astonishing 9 td and only 1 int. How he does it, noone will ever know, but he goes out there and always helps his team win. 1. Houston Texans - Well since the end of last year a lot has happened to the Texans. Their coach was fired, and they refused to hire a coach in the offseason, giving control to the computer. Maybe this was the best thing to do, because they have acquired players such as Garcia, Tomlinson, and A. Williams. They are still undefeated (6-0) scoring an amazing 31.5 points per game in a tough division with the Colts and Jags. Not to mention the 3 first round picks and 4 second round picks theyve managed to acquire. It wont be hard to sign a coach to this team, after this season. |
