17 Final The Minnesota Vikings were able to escape a Detroit Lions team that fought hard and never gave up.  The Vikings defense once again was up for the challenge holding the Lions to 3 field goals and giving up a 220 total yards of offense.  The Vikings defense was able to sack the Lions Mike McMahon 4 times, including 3 by DT Albert Haynesworth.  Marshall Faulk sputtered offensively for Minnesota gaining only 52 yards on 18 carries.  The lone bright spot on the Vikings offense as WR Andre Johnson, who caught 2 TD passes.  Minnesota is still waiting for the offense to start clicking.  Until then its the defense leading the way.

28 Final Giants rookie QB Matt Schaub got his first start of the season thanks to the season ending injury to Kerry Collins.  Schaub made sure it was a memorable one, leading the Giants to overtime victory after trailing 21-3 at the half.  The "Bachelor" Jesse Palmer filled in nicely for 1 drive as Schaub was shaken up after a hit by Atlanta's Keith Brooking.  Palmer completed 5 of 6 passes on the drive for 67 yards and a touchdown.  The Falcons Michael Vick was held to only 150 yards passing and no rushing attempts.
