17 | Final | The Minnesota Vikings were able to escape a Detroit Lions team that fought hard and never gave up. The Vikings defense once again was up for the challenge holding the Lions to 3 field goals and giving up a 220 total yards of offense. The Vikings defense was able to sack the Lions Mike McMahon 4 times, including 3 by DT Albert Haynesworth. Marshall Faulk sputtered offensively for Minnesota gaining only 52 yards on 18 carries. The lone bright spot on the Vikings offense as WR Andre Johnson, who caught 2 TD passes. Minnesota is still waiting for the offense to start clicking. Until then its the defense leading the way. |
