The suprising Texas A&M Aggies (6-6) who were given up for dead at 4-5 climbed back into the playoff hunt with a miracle win over Pitt two weeks ago. Looks like the miracles had run out.

With 1:30 to go, under by 6 points 34-28, the Aggies stood at the Pitt 18 yard line, ready to steal the win. Only 18 yards seperated the Aggies from playoff land and a first round rematch with these same Panthers. However the Panthers stuffed the Aggies offense for big losses on 3 consectutive plays, forcing a 4th down desperation pass which was incomplete. The Aggies season is now over, while Pitt wins the East Coast Conference, and will host the Fiesta Bowl.
