Dead Meow Retires
After much reflection, I have decided to throw in the towel. The Bill Walsh League earlier turned out to be a big success after an initial delay. The other leagues (NHL'94, BW95, M'92) have been less than spectacular. I can't do it alone. I can't be a one man show, doing the league, the website, and various roms, while league members do nothing positive to help progress the league. It usually turns out to be the opposite. I have to play referee, lawmaker, mommy and daddy, policeman, and .. well you get the picture.
The Madden'92 Phantom
The Madden'92 League was doomed from the start. One league member lost his internet service, another cried and ran home pouting because he didn't want to download AIM to participate. The new ROM developed phantom problems all of the sudden in the middle of a game, when it worked great a day before. The old ROM must have been affected by the same phantom, becasue it caused the same league member to quit for a 3rd time in 4 games. For some reason this problem only afflicted one certain unlucky league member.
I did enjoy the Bill Walsh League. In that league we had five people putting out an effort which made it a big success. The future of internet play is very uncertain. I am sorry I have to leave, but when its time, its time. I would like to thank all of the people who put an effort into the various leagues, successful and unsuccessful.
