#1 Miami92 Loses on Last Second Play
Another year, another #1 Miami team, another Kansas upset. After threatening to blow out the Jayhawks the Miami Hurricanes were hanging on for their lives early in the 2nd half. After a 2nd half Miami goaline fumble, and up by 9, Kansas could have buried the Hurricanes, but they almost buried themselves..
Kansas built a 21-12 halftime lead over #1 ranked Miami92. On Miami's first possession of the 2nd half, they drove to the Kansas goaline. On the next play they would fumble into the endzone and Kansas would recover. Kansas however was unable to build on their 9 point lead, and went 4 and out, leaving the canes with the ball on the Jayhawks 23 yard line. Very shortly the Canes converted the possession to a TD. 21-18 Kansas. Kansas would next drive to mid-field and be unable to convert a 4th down. Same result. Miami TD. 25-21 Miami. Kanas would make another mid-field drive, and once again unable to convert a 4th down as #26 drops a wide open pass. You know the rest. TD Miami, 32-21 Miami
Finally able to get it in gear Kansas would score a TD with 2:30 remaining in the game, making it 32-27. Following the kickoff, Miami would drive to mid-field, and throw an interception. Kansas would now drive down the field to the Miami 3 yard line. Unable to score in 3 downs, it now came down to one final 4th down play with only seconds remaining.
Now on 4th and goal, Kansas runs it to the right, into the endzone, barley evading tacklers. Kansas stuns another #1 Miami team for the 2nd year in a row
