#1 Ranked Miami Stunned
The rivalry that began with the 1993 Kansas comeback concluded today, and it wasn't a disapointment. Kansas had an impressive 17-14 win over Miami after taking a 10-0 halftime lead.
After holding Miami on it's inital drive Kansas drove down the field and took a 3-0 lead. On Miami's next possession the Kansas defense intercepted the Canes. However on the very next play Kansas turned the ball over on a Miami interception which if not for a shoe-string Kansas tackle, may have been returned for a touchdown. Each of the teams would next trade punts, and and Miami would then drive into Kansas territory where the Kansas defense forced it's second turnover, a Miami running back fumble This would set up Kansas for their second scoring drive making the score 10-0 with 15 seconds remaining in the first half. The second half saw Kansas forced to a three and out on their fist possession, followed by a Miami touchdown, making it 10-7. Kansas answered with a touchdown of drive of their own, making it 17-7. Miami answered with a another touchdown drive cutting the lead to 17-14. Kansas's final drive ended on the Miami three yard line, where the ball was downed on consecutive plays to run out the clock after Miami had spent all of their timeouts. Sports Home
