yo colorado
by jeremy cannon
The hinges creak and everyone keeps movin'
when you're ignorant to what's about to start groovin'
Can't imagine the shot of young'uns shootin'
until you're lying on the floor, with your blood oozin'.
It's a sad mystery nobody can handle
a crazy rampage no one could dismantle
burned everyone's thoughts, hotter than a candle
ruinin' the pure thought of life being beautiful.
It's a mad world, with lots of mad people
think about it, it's like when bad meets evil
if ya paint the world upon an easel,
better have a lot of a red, and a pic of two weasels.
Couldn't solve their problems with confidence and pride
had to charge up weaponery and go inside,
shoot people's hearts, until they fell outside,
but didn't suffer the consequences because they also died.
This damaged old world doesn't need people like them
when peace starts floatin' it's always condemned
Seems that way, am I out on a limb?
Guess the problem was is that they didn't have any friends.
So I say 'yo Colorado' and ask for consideration
there ain't a reason bad enough to perform assassination,
because now everyday kids are gonna be waitin'
and it might take years before their hands stop shakin'.
But by the time they get better it'll happen again
I'm trying to be positive but I know it won't end,
I'd like to take the world back and re-begin,
and make sure everyone has at least one friend.
We're all gonna die someday, but let's leave it to nature,
and not see the ad written on the front of the paper,
let our hearts wear out, and not be shot with danger,
by some gun-totin' freakshow who we call a stranger.
So I say 'yo Colorado' I hope things get better,
You know you'll be in God's love letter,
Hope the hate dries up and the love gets wetter,
But yo Colorado, I've never been a better.
