Rhymes
as her spirit rests
by jeremy cannon

Grandma's with grandpa now, living and loving eternally,
they're more happy I know it, I do, both externally and internally.
God will care for them, and make sure they get by,
a day after she went away, everyone cried.
The reason that stands is because on that day,
came the fall of a December rain.
Just made me think of all my hopes and fears,
knowing that the rain were the angels' tears.
She was such a beautiful lady, now her pain is gone,
had twelve children and lived her life so long.

And you'd never think,
when you take a drink,
of that flat beer.
That there was once one,
a woman who loved to have fun,
even through the tears.
For grandma is blessed
as her spirit rests.

Friday, December 3rd, Jesus called and he said,
she really needs to come to me, up and out of that bed.
We could've put her on machines to keep her alive,
but we knew she just wanted to die.
Because God works when he knows it's time,
Lived her life for her children without hate and crime.
So all I ask to remember this angel, oh yes,
for I'll never forget to pray, I was truly blessed.
To have such a lady be the reason I was born,
I love her, a woman so loving, so warm.

And you'd never think,
when you take a drink,
of that flat beer.
That there was once one,
a woman who loved to have fun,
even through the tears.
For grandma is blessed
as her spirit rests.

Tell me you couldn't see the glare,
as that rain came her image was standing there.
I know she's watching over me,
I know it'll be her when I see the wind in the trees.
